swt61 Posted April 13, 2023 Author Report Posted April 13, 2023 Well that's very restrictive of you. 1
VPI Posted April 13, 2023 Report Posted April 13, 2023 (edited) I guess I am going to give up on the $280 worth of CNC cut maple jaws from Andrew Klein, as he seems to be ignoring e-mails entirely now, and make my own. Paid for them a month ago and nothing yet as he forgot to send them with the vices. Edited April 13, 2023 by VPI 1

Edit: Just watched his latest video, looks like he stole your money for another 3D Printer. Edited April 14, 2023 by naamanf
swt61 Posted April 14, 2023 Author Report Posted April 14, 2023 Control his head! And to make a point, control it with the vices he sent you!
Craig Sawyers Posted April 14, 2023 Report Posted April 14, 2023 Were the jaws on a separate order to the vice? If it was on a credit card, you can just cancel the order and get the money back from your credit card company.
VPI Posted April 15, 2023 Report Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) All out of sunlight so no glamour shots, but I declare…Jatoba vices are sexy vices. That is all. (Sapele racing stripe for bonus points) Edited April 15, 2023 by VPI 8
Emooze Posted April 15, 2023 Report Posted April 15, 2023 Looks intense. I spent my day getting signed off on the local makerspace's ping-pong table. Well used but still runs very well. Plus has a real nice 3-phase spindle. 6
VPI Posted April 15, 2023 Report Posted April 15, 2023 Did not even realize a three phase spindle was a thing. Maybe I should look for one of those maker spaces so I can throw my shitty CNC away and put something worthwhile there.

VPI Posted April 15, 2023 Report Posted April 15, 2023 Are we talking power or some other nerd thing.
swt61 Posted April 15, 2023 Author Report Posted April 15, 2023 Jeff, you may not have been born a nerd, but you have certainly gained that status through osmosis. It's a hard thing to come to grips with. I learned this about myself at my first Head-Fi meet in Austin. 1

Emooze Posted April 16, 2023 Report Posted April 16, 2023 Just wait until you hear about the fourth phase, or home phase.
VPI Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 Nice contrast between the Jatoba from Andy Klein and my own, so I do not have to make Maple bench dogs. 4
Craig Sawyers Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 That vise mechanism is a thing of extreme beauty. 1
VPI Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 Do any of you guys have the Pantorouter thing? Thinking about trying this out for joinery.
swt61 Posted April 19, 2023 Author Report Posted April 19, 2023 No, but I did look at it recently. Seems like a nice tool. 6 hours ago, Craig Sawyers said: That vise mechanism is a thing of extreme beauty. It's accurate to 30 seconds in 5 years. 1
VPI Posted April 23, 2023 Report Posted April 23, 2023 Got the last set of maple vice jaws from In-Kleind and the mounting points and through holes are almost a full 1/4” off center so that required dramatic work to salvage and keep the length. Now that I have the maple vice jaws on, I think i am going to build more Jatoba jaws as the Maple bores me. 6
