The issue is, this is the first of probably 4 loads and I have no way of storing it all. I have a neighbor that wants all the white oak so trying to pick it out and come up with a price.

Your 18 bf of Wenge is just about worth the $400 that you paid for everything. At the going rate of $19 per bf it's worth $342.

4/4 White Oak is going for about $11.99 per bf. You can make him a good deal and still make good money on it.

Based upon my calculations, just the 5 largest white oak sticks are 84 BF. Then probably at least another 50 in smaller sticks.
That is assuming of course that the smaller ones are actually white oak. The big rift sawn 8/4 boards are marked.

I wish you were closer, Jeff. I’d certainly take some chunks off your hand.  Honestly, get it sorted, list some lots on FB Marketplace or Craigslist at 50% of retail and you can probably make a killing without much effort.  Or start with the neighbor and then call in the (almost literal) cavalry in Naaman and see if our resident trophy maker wants a bunch.

For some of the boards, if you’re willing, it might be worth it to me to have you cut it to length to fit in a USPS priority box and send it my way for some small projects I’ve got in the works with my mini ping pong table. The medium sized box (14x12x3) might hold a shocking # of BF and would leave good room for length and width.  Maybe some food for though there, if you’re up for it.

Perhaps a cross country caravan is in order. Due to the coming winter weather I would guess a southern route would make sense which should take the travelers through a lot of BBQ territory.

I somehow missed this thread, I'll start posting over here for my ping ponging/wood chipping.

Made a dovetail. Not perfect, but it was my first try. 87C0CD06-502D-49E8-9D7B-E0DA56BE8286.jpeg.9eeeb3d5e383c11efadf4c9d4146bee4.jpeg

Trying to pick some sticks for painted cabinet doors.
Anyone have a guess on what type of stick this is? Red Oak??

Looks like oak. I would save it for something nicer than painted doors. Place it will take some work filling the grain. Get some paint grade maple or poplar?

Decided to widen the dog crate top with some of the aromatic cedar from the stash.

Mock up before planing, gluing and dominoing the sticks together.

Retirement plaque for the Public Works Officer.

You're reference map of Australia is a bit off. Other than that it looks fantastic!

Finally at the point I can use the Roubo bench I’m making as a bench. Need to tweak the fit of the top a little and finishing building the vice leg and deadman.

You say that like it took a long time. That's remarkably fast. And it looks great.

I’ve been plugging away at it for a couple weeks, it’s deceptively a whole lot of more work than it looks. So far I’ve collected seven 55 gallon bags of wood chips making it.

So far I’m happy with how it’s turning out even though I’ve made a couple mistakes here and there.

Did you not do the through dovetails into the top?

No, I’m lazy, just mortise and tenon. I have modern lag bolts.
