luvdunhill Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 About :30 into this one and decided to share with HC!
luvdunhill Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 Anyone have any experience with German tax stamps that could guess how old this is?
mikeymad Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 The only real telling thing is that it is listed in both Deutsche Mark and EuroThis would not have been done before 1999 - and I would assume not to far after 2002 (when the Euro replaced the currency all together)Fixed rate since 31 December 1998Replaced by €, non cash 1 January 1999Replaced by €, cash 1 January 2002-28 February 2002The conversion on the stamp is at the fixed rate - € = DM 1.95583I don't know the MO 176 code - looked for it. Could be something for the year (MO) and 176th day.
Torpedo Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 In some countries like Spain, they kept labelling prices on both currencies for a few years, but I don't think any later than 2005. Old people still keep converting euros into pesetas :juer:
luvdunhill Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 Nice detective work! Yeah, I was curious about the 176 as well. Now: 1
Augsburger Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 I like everything on this page and wish I had the time to sit out inmy back yard with a glass of Cognac and enjoy them all.
luvdunhill Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 A treat: 3 year old Short Churchill
Voltron Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 One of these. Not sure how many years old, but I'd guess 30... 2
luvdunhill Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 A fantastic Magnum 46. Need more room in my tuppador. 2
grawk Posted January 10, 2016 Author Report Posted January 10, 2016 These are the best little shitty cigars 1
luvdunhill Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 I think the Rafael Gonzales label might be a bit nicer, especially in that vitola. I hate people that use that word.
Torpedo Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 but but but it's the Spanish word for that, I know no other 1
luvdunhill Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 but but but it's the Spanish word for that, I know no other Heh, you are free to use vitola AND marca though cigar snobs that use them are typically annoying I have found
Torpedo Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 Most snobs are just ridicule. Is there an English word for vitola meaning just that, the tape with the brand name/logo around the cigar? BTW, don't the snobs say "puro" for cigar?
grawk Posted January 11, 2016 Author Report Posted January 11, 2016 I'm a snob, but I don't talk about my cigars, I just buy them and smoke them.
