The Expanding Man Posted December 31, 2010 Report Posted December 31, 2010 Bolivar Habana Half Corona. This one has at least 4 years of aging. Very well constructed, good draw. Initial flavor was grass, followed by cinnamon. Second half, more citrus. This is a very interesting smoke, nothing unpleasant but nothing dominates. More sweet than savory, it would go well with a sweet beverage after a heavy meal. Very smooth. Sugars are well crystalized, so should be interesting to see what another year in the humidor does to these. Quote
manaox2 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 About to smoke a Padron 3000 I put off for a while. Its been in a ziplock back with a 72% reverse osmosis humidifier bag and digital hygrometer while my humidifier finished seasoning, should be fine. Quote
tyrion Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I think smoking of any kind is contraindicated when one has a healing fracture. Quote
tyrion Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 We will cross that path if you get glaucoma, which hopefully will not happen. And know marijuana either. It's smoke and it's illegal. Quote
manaox2 Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Fuente Opus X; pretty much knocked me on my ass. I'm picking up two more next time I'm in shop. Quote

manaox2 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Please tell me more. I've had one of these aging for a few years now, just waiting for that special day. All I can say for sure (since I have smoked a total of maybe 10 cigars before) is that the X easily formed an inch of nice ash, was smooth and a not as spicy as a Hemingway or short story, medium body smoke, and burns forever. It took me 45 minutes of constant attention. I really enjoyed it and gifted one to a friend before who was very happy as well. I still believe I like the Padron 1964 maduro a little more, but they are different beasts. Opus X packed a little more punch, glad I didn't have to focus much on anything for a while that evening. manaox2 Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I smoked a Padron 3000 last night, its likely a Padron anniversary or Opus X variety will be lost due to fire this weekend. Quote
