JBLoudG20 Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 Ok, who's going to see it? I'm hoping for a tri-bourne party soon, gotta talk to my buddy with the HT. Quote
DigiPete Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 I just rented the first two on HD-DVD, so I will watch those two first, then head to the Theater. I hope he gets a better chick in this one Quote
Iron_Dreamer Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 I never got what's so great about these movies. Seen the first two and was not impressed by either. For me, it's not the Bourne Ultimatium, but the Boring Ultimatium (or so I'd think based on the previous two). Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 On the one hand, I hated the second one so bad, I'm tempted to out-and-out boycott this one. On the other, my movie-watching buddies will probably watch it, and I'll probably capitulate and watch it with them. Maybe. There are so many other good movies that I'm thinking they can do that on one of the nights that I'm not available. Quote
CD44hi Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 probably wait for it on netflix. I know the vast majority of book-based movies are at best "loosely tied" to the original, but in this specific case, I thought the adaptation was very poorly done. If I had not read the books before, maybe I'd like the movies, who knows. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 Nochnoi Dozyor was pretty faithful. But yeah, that's exactly why I hated it so much. Quote
en480c4 Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 What the series lacks in faithfulness to the original material it more than makes up for in enjoyment. To be honest, I find Ludlum pretty dry, and while I found the story in the books to be interesting, I did find entire sections to be a bit of a struggle to fight through. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 What the series lacks in faithfulness to the original material it more than makes up for in enjoyment. Uh, no. Quote
deepak Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 Also waiting for it on DVD/HD format. The first one was enjoyable, the second one...eh. Quote
postjack Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 I'll download it illegal copier priate!!!! Quote
deepak Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 Should we let him into the backdoor pirate forum? Billy is the only member right now. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 illegal copier priate!!!! You left off the 'm', 'primate'. Quote
en480c4 Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 Uh, no. Well, considering the books often felt more like a chore than fun, the movies were certainly more enjoyable for me. Quote
MrSlacker Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 wait... these movies are based on books? LOL Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Well, considering the books often felt more like a chore than fun, the movies were certainly more enjoyable for me.Yes. If however, like me, you enjoyed reading the books, then 'uh, no' stands. Quote
KenW Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Saw it tonight. Decent I guess. Most in our group loved it, but I was only mildly entertained by it. Just nothing new I suppose. Stunts were okay, but I really wasn't blown away by this one. Quote
MrSlacker Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 haha I posted too soon.... ended up watching it with friends tonight it was pretty decent. action from 1st second till last and ended was surprising... excellent fight scenes and good acting overall, it wasnt too bad Quote
