AKG K340 comparisons needed

Well, I am looking for a new set of headphones. There is a modded set currently for sale, based on various impressions I am interested. My favorite cans have always been the HP-1000's and L3000's. I have also owned and enjoyed the Senns 600 and 650's, RS-1's both new and vintage stock, PS-1's. Would love to hear all of your thoughts on the K340's and how they compare to what I am familiar with.

That's probably about as good as a review as you're gonna get. There have been several modifications to my K340's since then to reduce the midrange colouration and get more extension in the treble, which has been successful for the most part. But given that my personal pair has way more mods & fine-tuning than any other in existence, I'd say the above review is an accurate representation of the typical modded K340. The soundstage is rather crippled by the Gilmore Lite clone, but otherwise, everything else stands.

Don't know, don't care, moot question in any case since I sure as hell ain't going back there even if they unbanned me. They're not worthy of my presence anymore. To be honest I should've gotten the fuck out of head-fi sometime in 2005 at the latest.

Yeah, but since I really like the PS-1's and grado in general, those impressions are more in line with how I hear things than from, say a K340 fanboy
