I never said I prefered them... on the contrary, I think the 5000 blows. I'm so glad I got these, as right off the bat they sound SO much better than my w100.

I was just implying that cost wise they are not as impressive as the 'top tier' that is usually discussed here.

6.5 hours of straight listening to the w5000.... it sucks. i'm sorry.

looks like i'm definitely alone on the W5000 then. I've been enjoying them more and more recently. Not my favorite can ever or anything, but they have merit.

I believe Peter (Iron_Dreamer) also appreciates them to a degree. :)

Yeah, I certainly did. I can understand folks not liking them considering how much fit effects the sound, and how they don't fit quite a variety of people. Among closed headphones, only the R10 does better for air and soundstage (haven't heard the 4070).

nice.....:) Get yourself the W11JPN and W2002 man. Those wood finished are the best looking in the biz. The lacquer finished on the W11JPN is darker than the W2002 though.

Well last night I spent a few hours with the VTG, and I had to package up my w100. I was already feeling some seller's remorse, then I put them on...

I immediately took them off, put them in the box, and looked at my VTG lovingly.

It's spelled, 'adieu', you non-French-speaking-Merkin, you.

Well, "without further adieu" would translate to "without further farewells" so I don't think that's right either. I believe the word he's looking for is "ado".
