ironbut Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 The PBS series "Twice Born" is pretty amazing. Sometimes tragic and sad but you can't help but wonder if everything is possible. 1 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 Actually, I've never seen The IT Crowd other than bits and clips that Graim posts, so started watching it. Brilliant. "You two are used to being social piranhas." 1 Quote
shellylh Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 ^ I'm glad you're finally getting around to it. 1 Quote

Dusty Chalk Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 I'm pretty sure I'm legally required to watch them all, I'm surprised no-one (neither online nor in-real-life) has called me on that. 1 Quote
shellylh Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) I just rewatched The Work Outing, it is brilliant! Edited April 7, 2015 by shellylh 1 Quote
grawk Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 last night, the greatest 30 minutes of televised interview ever. John oliver interviewing Edward Snowden. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Apparently The Thick of It is on Hulu; I've been meaning to watch this since I saw In the Loop way back when it came out. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. -- oh, look, it's Edward James Olmos. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Just watched the "The Work Outing" episode. Fabulous! Brilliant! (pew pew pew pew pew!) 5 stars! 2 Quote

Dusty Chalk Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 And the episode after that -- the funeral episode, "The Return of the Golden Child" -- is even better. And the episode after that -- the German Cuisine episode, "Moss and the German" -- is even better. I don't think I can take much more hilarity. I relate the most with Richmond, by the way. "What funeral?" 2 Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Berserk: The Golden Age Arc 1 -- The Egg of the King -- somewhere along the line, they rebooted this title. It's fairly fucked up. But that's because the manga it's based on is fairly fucked up. And spectacularly, deliciously violent. Griffith is just as mesmerizingly, borderline homoerotically charismatic as he is in the manga. And they did an excellent job of translating Guts, Griffith, and Casca are exactl as I imagined them. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Marvel's Daredevil -- fuck. This show is the best. You can't watch those first tow episodes without.... EDIT: FFFUuu... Quote

Salt Peanuts Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Marvel's Daredevil -- fuck. This show is the best. You can't watch those first tow episodes without.... EDIT: FFFUuu... I watched the first episode last night and was suitably impressed. This is good to know. I wasn't planning on watching it after being scarred by the cluster fuck that was the Daredevil movie from a while back. Quote
n_maher Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 The first episode should cleanse your mental pallet of the bile that was Ben Affleck. The idea that he is the next Batman just hurts my head. So. Much. Fail. Quote
VPI Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Daredevil gets his ass kicked way too much. He should retire. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 The idea that he is the next Batman just hurts my head. So. Much. Fail. Fuck, I had completely forgotten about that one. Fuck. Quote
n_maher Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Fuck, I had completely forgotten about that one. Fuck. I suppose they have to ruin the franchise every so often (see: Clooney) so they can resurrect it. Bale was just so good that it seems like they would have been better off not doing anything for a while. Quote
crappyjones123 Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Bale was just so good that it seems like they would have been better off not doing anything for a while. Oodles of this. Better would be to make another one with Bale directed by Nolan. There certainly was room left for another one at the end of the trilogy. Quote
