shellylh Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Just finished watching the 3rd season of Louie on Netflix. Now I have to wait for season 4. .
shellylh Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 22 minute shows are dangerous. "I'll just watch this since it is only 22 minutes long.... That was one good, I'll just watch one more, it's only 22 minutes long....."
luvdunhill Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) Yeah -- let me know what else you watch, maybe I'm just not aware of it. Black Box (1 season and cancelled) Person of Interest Scorpion Kinda feels like we are developing some social network algorithm Edited February 17, 2015 by luvdunhill 2
Dusty Chalk Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Shelly -- you gotta watch his standup, I have never laughed so hard. Yeah, wasn't aware of Scorpion, but I'll definitely give it a go watch the pilot maybe. Person of Interest -- now that one I was aware of, but had forgotten to watch, will check it out. Black Box, never even heard of. Okay, I started watching RWBY -- OMG, this is awsum. Weird girl shows up, Ruby says something, (silence, wind blows, a tumbleweed blows past)...Ruby says something else...(more wind, another tumbleweed blows past)..."sure is windy". Ruby (main character) starts giving a rousing speech, "Sisters! Friends! Weiss!" (Weiss is a "frenemy") Weiss: (offscreen) "Hey!" I couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes. Yes, it's simple little humour, but it's definitely my kind of humour.
shellylh Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Shelly -- you gotta watch his standup, I have never laughed so hard. That is next on the list. Laughing is good.
luvdunhill Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Also, Elementary perhaps? I am trying to make recommendations based on your list so need some feedback to tune algorithm 1
Dusty Chalk Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Elementary is on my list as well, that is all I've got.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 This show is the best. I love the touch'n'go humour -- it's typical "good guy vs. bad guy" shtick, and the CG is horrible (I think it even makes fun of itself at one point -- person falls, goes splat, and parts appear to have gone missing because they were rendered on the other side of the floor) but it's the little things that get me. Bad guy looks like someone out of Clockwork Orange; one of the professors is constantly slurping on coffee and spastic; etc. ... RWBY ...

shellylh Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Louie C.K. live at the Beacon Theater 3
Dusty Chalk Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 Not sure where else to post this, so I'll post it here: Amazon greenlights Man in the High Castle, amongst others I watched the pilot. I am excite.
ironbut Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Comcast screwed up my on Demand feature for 11 days and I screamed bloody murder (like the spoiled baby that I am). They took $50 off of my bill and comped 3 months of Showtime (already have HBO and Starz). As a result, I've been gulping down Homeland 3 or 4 episodes a night. Between that and catching up on the last season of The Walking Dead, I'm convinced that ISIS is the result of a contagion. 2
Grahame Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Beautiful People, Posh Frocks, and a Red Carpet.
shellylh Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Finished House of Cards; I'm now ready for Season 3.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Black Mirror Season 2, Episode 1 Had me weeping twice already, and I'm not even halfway through, what an emotional roller coaster. Shelly, you might want to skip this particular episode for now. 1
Craig Sawyers Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 I have no idea whether you can get this in the US, but House of Fools. This is a BBC comedy show with a live audience in its second season, written by Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, and is unique, weird and absolutely hilarious. Has me in tears every week. If you like Monty Python, you'll like this. 1
shellylh Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Bosch I'm a huge fan of the Harry Bosch books so I'll probably be disappointed in the show but I'll give it a chance.
skullguise Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Bosch I'm a huge fan of the Harry Bosch books so I'll probably be disappointed in the show but I'll give it a chance. I've read many of them too Shelly...looking forward to your thoughts. I tend to avoid series based off good books.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
shellylh Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) 2 episodes of Transparent - I like it so far (though the 3 kids are a bit annoying). Edited February 25, 2015 by shellylh 1
Voltron Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 They're very annoying and I stopped at two or three episodes. People have suggested powering through because it gets better but I haven't done it yet.
blessingx Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Are they annoying 'cause they're so selfish or other? If selfishness, not sure that changes much across the season, but your sympathies towards that selfishness may. Certainly the writers working with it gets more interesting. Brain probably led the heart on this one, but the heart gets there.
