Grahame Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Comcast Segmented Advertising ? , Blech! Possibly not, If I were a Mac user, and say, combined iPlayer Automator , and say a UK proxy , possibly * * so you can make intelligent comments in the "what have you been watching then, mum" phone conversations
crappyjones123 Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 does anyone else find themselves trying to suppress a very strong urge to slap the commentators on nbc right now? why not just shut the fuck up and let us enjoy the ceremony...
Grahame Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 does anyone else find themselves trying to suppress a very strong urge to slap the commentators on nbc right now? why not just shut the fuck up and let us enjoy the ceremony... That's why I'm watching the (*pausable*) BBC coverage, with no ads either ...
blessingx Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Grahame I know you passed along the proxy info above, but know any other way to stream? Fuck Olympic-Cable police.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 So I totally missed it, how was Mike Oldfield's part of the performance? What did he do besides bang that enormous tubular bell?
blessingx Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Watching Owens v. Hitler... http://www.openculture.com/2012/07/leni_riefenstahl_captures_jesse_owens_dashing_nazi_dreams_at_the_1936_olympics.html
shellylh Posted July 28, 2012 Report Posted July 28, 2012 Olympics, of course: Women's weightlifting (48kg weight class - snatch), USA vs Col women's soccer, USA vs S. Korea women's volleyball, men's gymnastics. How am I supposed to accomplish anything in the next two weeks?
blessingx Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Was probably tired from the jump. Fun fashion rankings.
Absorbine_Sr Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 So I totally missed it, how was Mike Oldfield's part of the performance? What did he do besides bang that enormous tubular bell? Oldfield played guitar for the most part, although I was screaming because the insipid US broadcast team would not shut the fuck up and talked over most of Tubular Bells. My favorite viewing today was the Women's Foil Fencing. Those girls were pretty badass.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 Oldfield played guitar for the most part, although I was screaming because the insipid US broadcast team would not shut the fuck up and talked over most of Tubular Bells. I probably would have had an aneurysm.
mikeymad Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 today - Fencing, Archery, Shooting, Badminton, Table Tennis, Diving... oh and some F1 when I get around to it.
Grahame Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Oldfield played guitar for the most part, although I was screaming because the insipid US broadcast team would not shut the fuck up and talked over most of Tubular Bells. Mikey 'O' Mid Shred Some Background You do know you can get it without "the insipid US broadcast team"
Grahame Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 ... I was screaming because the insipid US broadcast team would not shut the fuck up... And not just you @guyadams Guy Adams Matt Lauer would do well to shut up, wouldn't he? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/nbcfail-journalist-at-the-independent-has-twitter-account-suspended-after-complaining-about-nbcs-coverage-of-london-2012-olympics-7987906.html #NBCFAIL !
Dusty Chalk Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 You do know you can get it without "the insipid US broadcast team" Yeah, I'm hoping that's the case after the fact as well.
Grahame Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Grahame I know you passed along the proxy info above, but know any other way to stream? Fuck Olympic-Cable police. Yeah, I'm hoping that's the case after the fact as well. Funny you should say that .... mashable: How to Watch the Olympics Live via the BBC in the U.S. lifehacker: How an American Can Stream the BBC’s Official Olympics Coverage and Overcome #NBCFail
blessingx Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) Another thing to watch for at the Olympics... Kevin Lee, chief executive of Sol Republic, said he did not know that Phelps would be wearing his company’s headphones during the Games. He said he was thrilled, but not surprised, that so many Olympians were using premium models. Edited August 2, 2012 by blessingx
swt61 Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 I think it's short for SHIT ON LOBES. So happy Michael beat Ryan last night. I like Ryan too, but this is Phelps last hurrah.
Dusty Chalk Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Hey hey hey hey hey -- "Sol" is the name of the star around which we orbit. Sol Republic is just a brand.
