deepak Posted January 6, 2008 Author Report Posted January 6, 2008 Wildcard Saturday Redskins v Seahawks Jags v Steelers right now
Chekhonte Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I loved that casino royal and I'm not even that big of a bond fan.
Chekhonte Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 OK, so I admit it. I was totally off base and wrong. Dexter doesn't suck. The second season of Dexter is really good. I only have 3 episodes left and am relishing them.
postjack Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 i hadn't seen it, until now, actually. i liked rushmore, loved life aquatic and hated darjeeling. royal tenebaums is the best for one reason: it has royal (hackman) in it.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I didn't realize, but I just finished watching Season 1 of Deadwood last night. God damn. I don't know if it's the "best show evar!!!1!", but goddamn, it's a good show. No, wait, let me try that again, ...but goddamn, it's a good fucking show. That last episode was killer. The silent exchange between Trixie and Al just totally slayed me. A lot more to it than that, too. The fact that Al killed two people, and you ended up at least empathizing with him on both counts, if not completely sympathizing with him ("bag of shit") is definitely a score for the writers. And then they toy with your emotions with the whole Jewel's boots storyline.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Yup, can't start season 2 soon enough. And yes, I already know about the timing of the show getting cancelled.
ojnihs Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 is that really possible to do with a carrot?
Dusty Chalk Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 is that really possible to do with a carrot?Which 'that'? There were several death by carrot scenes. Not that it matters, the answer is still, 'no'. I told you: suspension of disbelief. Oh, and yes, I enjoyed the take it apart, dry it off, and put it back together scene. As well as the conveyer belt scene, the violence while having sex scene, the "key" he used to get into his squat, the whole "remote control by ropes" scene...oh, who am I kidding, I loved that whole movie. So, did you enjoy it? I think all three of us (Hirsch, myself, and Hirsch's and my friend Linda) enjoyed it. I think we all appreciated it for its silliness, because we were all laughing out loud.
tkam Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I still need to see shoot 'em up. Watching LSU - OSU right now. Go Tigers!!
deepak Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 i'm half way through, right now. i really like it, it's great. So Shoot Em Up is worth a watch?
deepak Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 Ok yes to all four. A bit less on Paul Giamatti.
tkam Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 hmm, check, check, not really, triple check.
deepak Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 He's decent in a few movies. But The Illusionist and Sideways are the only ones I recall having seen him where he had a big role. edit: and Cinderella Man
deepak Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 uh, American Splendor, anyone? I'll have to see this one. Been slacking on my movie watching for movies that came out in the last five or so years.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 if you ever wanted to see Alma Garret naked, Kissed is the movie for you. it's cool and weird.Actually, there's been some Alma Garret naked in Deadwood, which I have to admit to enjoying, despite her taking all her black clothing off.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 At least: last episode of season 1; first episode of season 2. Not that I'm keeping track, it's just that those are the last two episodes I watched, so it's fairly easy to remember.
tkam Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 you guys don't like paul giamatti? i didn't realize we had so many losers here. he's a good actor i'm just not a huge fan. i wouldn't see a movie just because he is in it.
en480c4 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 well, i wouldn't either, but i would go see good movies because he was in it Which is why you shouldn't bother with Lady in the Water
Chekhonte Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Just finished the first episode of the third season of Six Feet Under. I think that if I left myself to my own devices I'd go sick and watch the entire season today.
Chekhonte Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 I can't do it today. I just bought a sound level meter, I'm currently making a headphone stand/rack and have a date at 5:00. Tomorrow I may go on a tear.
