acidbasement Posted November 21, 2015 Report Posted November 21, 2015 Jessica Jones Should I watch that instead of a zombie movie tonight?
Dusty Chalk Posted November 21, 2015 Report Posted November 21, 2015 I don't know, I just started it, but yes. Well, no, depends which movie. No it doesn't, yes. I DON'T KNOW! It's certainly what I'm doing. 1

en480c4 Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Finally started watching Daredevil... Great pilot. Looking forward to the rest of the season and then Jessica Jones now that I'm caught up with The Walking Dead.
n_maher Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Started Jessica Jones yesterday as well. Pretty good so far.
Dusty Chalk Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Man in the High Castle is out now, too, going to start that eventually. (Amazon)
ironbut Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 I'm loving the second season of Fargo (loved the first season too). The characters are fantastic. 90% are so friggin clueless that it can drive you a little nuts but that's just part of the fun. I wondered why the episodes were an hour 20 min but I think that maybe the show is a full 60 minutes (plus 20 min of non-show)? If you love the Coen Brothers, you'll probably agree with me. 3
tyrion Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Man in the High Castle is out now, too, going to start that eventually. (Amazon) 4 episodes in and love it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
Dusty Chalk Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 Alright, totally binge-watched the last couple episodes of Jessica Jones, the show fucking slammed. Arrow, s04e07, "Brotherhood" -- they've really upped their game in terms of the fight scene department. There were two, in particular, that really caught my eye. If you're into the show at all, watch for them.

Didn't realize there was a Fargo tv show, thanks!
Dusty Chalk Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Finished Jessica Jones ((singing) Aaaaaawe-some), started Man in the High Castle (awesome so far) Coincidence: Burn Gorman has been in every other thing I've been seeing lately: Man in the High Castle, Game of Thrones, Crimson Peak, Forever...it's just weird.
shellylh Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Started watching Transparent Season 2. I don't like it quite as much as Season 1 but there are some interesting issue they bring up. The problem is that (so far) it's even more about the annoying kids and less about Maura.
Grahame Posted December 19, 2015 Report Posted December 19, 2015 The Soup Series Finale. End of an era.
jpelg Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Continuum (final two episodes, including series finale) - what a disappointing mess of a cluster f...
Dusty Chalk Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Homeland -- this is such a great fucking show. Finished Man in the High Castle and caught up on Game of Thrones -- both are outstanding. I particularly like the character of Juliana Crane -- she's so submissive, presents such a meek front, and yet such a deeply complex character. Kind of hate the soap opera/love triangle aspect of it, though. I doubt that will go away with season two, though.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Yeah...watchable by others, maybe. I have to admit, I loved the whole cold war aspect of it, and would have been happy with that if it just had gone totally bleak like the whole Arnold/mother/sister subplot aspect, or the constant references as to who would or wouldn't need to commit Seppuku. Or the fact that ever single actor took the 1.93 seconds it took to pronounce ' Obergruppenführer ' correctly every single fucking time.
Fitz Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 So what's the overall verdict on it? It's one of my favorite PKD novels, so I'm likely to watch it at some point regardless.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 I thought it was great, thought I already said that, but looking back, I may have muddled it. Well worth watching once at least, methinks. I think I find the whole concept of love triangles uncomfortable, especially when they play one of the characters as "deserving" of better. I realize this is a completely unrealistic aversion to have, so just suggesting to take my above criticism with a larger grain of salt than usual.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 A Very Murray Christmas -- which is delightfully bleak -- and Miley's voice stands out (in a good way), although I dare say that her mic costs probably 100x what the other ones cost (and is probably overdubbed).

I don't remember liking season 8 very much, too cold war-ly, but this was even more cold war-ly, mayhaps sometime between then and now I "bought in"? Anyway, may revisit season 8 at some point, see if I got over myself. Or whatever it was, the problem.
en480c4 Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Thoroughly enjoyed Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Started watching Catastrophe on Amazon the other night and we ended up watching all 6 episodes of Season 1. Hilarious. Kind of like You're the Worst, but they're not quite that bad. At times Lauren & I were worried we were going to wake Penelope up we were laughing so hard.
shellylh Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 I wanted to watch Doc Martin Season 7 so I signed up for a trial of Acorn.tv. Is this business/site legit? Anyone used it?
