jinp6301 Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Jesus, that sounds awfully good FIFY but yea, that looks disgusting(ly good?)
guzziguy Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 My usual breakfast: Cheerios with non-fat milk, bananas and blueberries, and dark roast coffee. Lots of the latter.
saint.panda Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Had this two days ago. Very good and affordable. I think we paid around $100 for 5, which included some other dishes (grilled eel, tempura, salads, grilled fish, etc. ) and lots of sake.
jinp6301 Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 parents brought me to a sushi buffet couple of nights ago. it was pretty yummy
grawk Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 THAT sushi platter was $100? Wow. Last few times I had sushi, just mine was $100
saint.panda Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Actually, that plate alone was just $55 and that's already upper class sushi. China is cheap
Salt Peanuts Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 The last time I had a sushi platter (or two), it was free. Good to have a mom who is a great cook. Of course, it requires driving 4-5 hours (one way) to my folks' place in Maine.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 THAT sushi platter was $100? Wow. Last few times I had sushi, just mine was $100 Hey, the next time you're in Arlington on a work day, let me know -- there's a place across the street from where I work that has excellent, cheap sushi. I 'loaded up', and it came out to about $11. Of course, that was before prices went up due to gas prices, but I bet they're still pretty reasonable. There's also a place in Thurmont that's pretty reasonable and excellent quality, I can ask after the info if you want. I, unfortunately, have to eschew sushi (being on Lipitor, you know). I still have it once in a while, but for the most part, I just avoid.
grawk Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 You can't eat raw fish on lipitor? Wow, that'd suck.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 And grapefruit, for some reason. I think it's kidney function -- eating raw fish makes your kidney work overtime, and it's already working overtime or something like that. Maybe liver -- I always get those two mixed up.
Knuckledragger Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Trader Joe's Chimichurri Rice. This stuff is unbelievably good.
