JimP Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I'm jealous of you guys in New England...I'm in a John Irving reading phase -- eg, Hotel New Hampshire, Cider House Rules, World According To Garp, Widow For A Year, etc -- seems like a wonderful place I would like to visit some day, half-way around the world. OK, to stay on topic -- cold pasta with canned tomato sauce (the wife is away for 2 weeks, she took the baby and our domestic helper) Any basic survival recipes (simple and easy), send them to me.
JimP Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 thnx Reks, I will try this one tomorrow night (I will survive on my own)
JBLoudG20 Posted May 27, 2008 Author Report Posted May 27, 2008 New England is win. Especially in the fall.

boomana Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Vegan Pizza from Pizza Fusion. Most vegan pizza tastes lousy. This one is very good: eggplant, fresh garlic and onion. My breath is probably awful, and my belly is huge from eating too much, but I'm very happy

grawk Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Cajun bait stew I took some asian "paealla" mix, mussels, salad shrimp, oysters, and the worst fake crab meat ever. Cooked it in what's basically an etouffee mix. Butter, flower, pepper, salt, cajun spice mix, bell peppers, onions, celery, beer, worchestershire sauce, rotel tomatoes. Rice cooked with tumeric. Cook it all, mix it together, serve. Looks nasty, tastes pretty good.
Happy Camper Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Baby back ribs rubbed with Famous Dave's Rib rub and sauce, corn, sweet potato & garlic bread.
swt61 Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Just built a giant fresh fruit salad...2 kinds of apple, pear, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, nectarines, kiwi, grapes and mandarin oranges. Then I made a sauce from sour creme, powdered sugar, lemon juice and Grand Marnier. As per usual I over bought, so I'm sitting on 2 gallons of fruit salad. My neighbors will get a visit later.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 It's kind of citrusy -- at first I was going to say Cheddar-Pineapple or Cheddar-Mango, but then I wanted to say lemon-lime, but the correct answer is, apparently, 'Mountain Dew'. They even tell you with the color on the packaging.

grawk Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Dude, it's CAJUN. If it tasted lousy all you needed to do is add whiskey and more cayenne! Spoken like someone not from the bayou
riceboy Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Had cheese and crackers with fruit, but no wine . Gotta workout after this
Augsburger Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Spoken like someone not from the bayou My sister-in-law is about as close as I will ever get to the bayou.

Dusty Chalk Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Peter's Purple Chicken and couscous. (Peter's Purple chicken == marinating it in red wine while raw, then cooking it on the George Foreman grill.)
