Salt Peanuts Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Chocolate mousse from my second attempt. Better than the first attempt (less Espresso powder this time) and I've gotten the texture to come out well both times. Next time, I think I'll use chocolate with less cocoa content.
Tony Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 A piece of cake. It's insanely good at 3 a.m.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 A piece of cake. It's insanely good at 3 a.m. 3am? Jeebus, you're 6 hours ahead of me. I don't remember the last time I was still up at 3am.
Tony Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I think it's a skill you gain while being at university.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I think it's a skill you gain while being at university. And lose gradually after you're done with school, at least in my case.
Absorbine_Sr Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 A salad made with Romaine hearts, roasted red peppers, red onion and artichoke hearts. Dressed with a light white wine vinegar & olive oil and sprinkled liberally with freshly grated parmesan. Yum.
guzziguy Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Grilled fish (Opa) with TJ's Habanero and Lime Salsa, grilled rosemary potatoes and grilled string beans. Can you tell that I like to grill?
Dusty Chalk Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 It's the right time of the year for it (my ex did all the grilling). I miss grilled food.
guzziguy Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 It's the right time of the year for it (my ex did all the grilling). I miss grilled food. Here in Santa Barbara, I'm able to grill all year long. It's my favorite way to cook as the results are great and cleanup is easy. It's also about the easiest way to cook. Give it a try.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 learn to grill, then.Oh, I know how, we just aren't set up to do so (no deck, no patio to speak of). Oh, and no grill.
JBLoudG20 Posted May 7, 2008 Author Report Posted May 7, 2008 that would definitely make it hard. That's what she said.
lostonetr Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 gonna be cool and derail the topic. had a GYU DON for lunch.
Salt Peanuts Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 A slice of an Italian bread with Nutella.
riceboy Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Kalua Pig sandwich. It is like pulled pork sandwich, but a little different flavor (Hawaiian style). This is how they cook it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalua and how to prepare it in a slow cooker http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Kalua-Pig-in-a-Slow-Cooker/Detail.aspx
riceboy Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 that sounds pretty tasty! It is one of my favorite Hawaiian foods. I mean I haven't found anyone that doesn't really like it yet. Definitely not good if you are on a diet, but very tasty indeed.
