Brunch with an old friend today. Spent a couple hours over 4 courses catching up on the past 10-15 years.

Shawn was torn between the biscuit and gravy and the trout, so I said to go with the trout and we'd have Biscuit and Gravy for 2nd appetizer

So it is denser than bread, like an American biscuit, but not as dense as an American scone, correct?

Edit: OK, after reading that recipe, it looks like what you consider a scone is very similar to what we call a shortcake.

So that's a scone in GB? Can you describe it? It looks similar to what us yanks call a biscuit.

And what they call a biscuit, we call a cookie.  And what they call the boot, we call the trunk.  And what they call suspenders, we call a bra.

You all would probably like my gramma's "korzhiki".  Basically, flour dough cookies.  Great with tea!
