shellylh Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 ^^ Nice! Yesterday we went to a crawfish boil. They flew in 120 lbs of mud bugs, and made some nice gumbo, a little fried alligator and some beignets along with lots of beer. Today we had friends over and grilled burgers and brats on the grill with some more beer and other alcoholic libations. Wish I liked crawfish... or seafood in general. Lots of good crawfish around here.
deepak Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Some left over vegetarian "calzones" (I think stromboli is more accurate given the way they were cooked), an Italian restaurant owner and I cooked for us at ISKCON. Really delicious filling of finely ground eggplant, onions and scallions grilled under pressure so they formed a patty. Added a small amount of cheese and just very simple flavorful lunch.
raffy Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Last of the leftover rib roast plus some broccoli.

That all sounds good, except for the crawfish. i made a soufflé tonight. mushrooms, chives, endive, with extra sharp cheddar, parmesan, and brie. That looks great!
grawk Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 120 lbs of bugs? Damn! I'm ordering 40 in June.
Absorbine_Sr Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 A sirloin strip steak for Debbie, a New York strip for me, accompanied by some fresh Michigan asparagus. All done on the grill and so tasty. It was a very happy dinner.
Absorbine_Sr Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Boneless pork chops and new potatoes, onions and Brussels sprouts in a white wine and dijon sauce. Prepared on the grill and delicious if I do say so myself.

grawk Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 ^^ and chicken tikka marsala... I had some of that too, but it was my kid's
Absorbine_Sr Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Please fax. Don't bother with the brussel sprouts though. No, you need the sprouts as they were the sweet counterpoint to the tart dijon sauce. We were very happy with how it turned out.
shellylh Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Well, I haven't had brussel sprouts that I liked so...
Absorbine_Sr Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) New York strip for me, butterflied filet for Debbie and Caesar salad with homemade croutons and dressing. Yep, egg and anchovies. It was very good. Edited April 22, 2012 by Absorbine_Sr
