tyrion Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 I did some in the Bubba Keg and some on a small Brinkmann smoker which is being retired since the Traeger arrives this week. It was cooler today and a bit overcast so I had no trouble keeping the keg at 225. The ribs were very good. Quote

tyrion Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 I just had one of the drumsticks from yesterday and a piece of banana bread. Tonight will be more turkey and pecan pie. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Leftover Thanksgiving dinner. I love Friday after Thanksgiving. Quote
mypasswordis Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Have you been checked for a tape worm? I probably should.. or maybe my thyroid... that was only ~1900 calories though, half my daily intake. Quote
Voltron Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 A little late, but Claire's rustic Tarte Tatin made with Granny Smiths and our own Fijis from our one little apple tree is worth a day-after shot. Bottom: Top: Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 One banana... Two banana... Three banana... ...three bananas. Quote
Voltron Posted November 27, 2010 Report Posted November 27, 2010 Sorry, all eated up. I have a tiny slice of pecan pie I was saving but I will slap it in the pneumatic tube now if you want to try the best pecan pie evar. Quote
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Very nice Al. I'm at the Saturday after Thanksgiving Jambalaya Fest that Debbie's family holds. Mildly drunk and mouth burning from exquisite spices. Me are happy! Quote
tyrion Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 That is some good looking dessert Al. I still have about 1/3 of the second pecan pie left. I'm trying to resist. Quote
Voltron Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Jambalaya Fest sounds great Mike. We just found out that a dumpy little coffee shop in Mayberry closed down and is being replaced by a cajun spot. Nice upgrade! Resistance is futile, other Mike! Quote
tyrion Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 First pizza I've made where I made the dough from scratch. Before: After: Quote
grawk Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 my daughter had been making from scratch pizzas lately. I'm having popcorn Quote
tyrion Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 looks nice. i've always wanted to make pizza, and my girlfriend, at all points of our relationship over the past 4 years has always thought it would be fun, but we've never done it. i now have a pizza stone, and am going to get a pizza peel, as soon as i find the perfect one (it will mostly be used for bread, as the stone is), so maybe i should make it soon. any tips, Mike? Yeah, take the pie off the stone when you remove from oven (grill for me) or it will keep cooking. This stone retains the heat for a long time. I make mine between 450 and 500 on the bubba keg grill. I used a pretty simple dough recipe which was pretty good. I need to experiment with some other recipes. I also want to try a deep dish Chicago style pie (it's not really pizza so I call it pie ) Quote
boomana Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 There are some absolutely disgusting meat pics in here lately, but not as disgusting as reading mypasswordis is can eat almost 4000 calories a day. I gain weight if I eat more than 1600 a day, and that's when I'm working out. The pizza looks good, Mike. I am having homemade butternut squash soup and a salad. Not my best effort, but I used only what was already in the house. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Lemon chicken with egg noodles Quote
shellylh Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 That mac and cheese recipe looks good so does the pizza. @Mike: Did you make your own sauce too? We usually cheat and use pasta sauce from a jar. The pizza stone is key. Quote
tyrion Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Shelly, making sauce will be the next step. I make my own bbq sauces so why not some pizza sauce. Maybe it's time to make some cheese as well. Reks, I bet sour dough pizza would be great. Quote
Voltron Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 sourdough pizza crust IS great Quote
