grawk Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 yup, I was always taught it's perfectly acceptable to eat sushi with your fingers
Salt Peanuts Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 then your hands get all sticky, which make for awkward high fives. Why are you high fiving while eating sushi? As for sticky hands, your hands shouldn't get to sticky, unless rice wasn't prepared properly.

Dusty Chalk Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Not now, but just got back from Pilin, and they gave me a free desert...again! They must really love me there. I came just before closing, and they waved me down, "sit, sit, eat, eat", making me feel very welcome, and not intruding on their closing time at all. After which I watched them turn 4 people away because they were closed. Not rude, but just calm, consistent, "no, I'm sorry, we're closed", "no, not even for take out", etc. I wonder if they have to go through that every night. But I sat by the window, and practically flaunted my meal in their faces. Not on purpose, just worked out that way. I probably saw as many people and/or groups of people stop by, look in the window, check out the menu, and -- yes, visibly -- think to themselves, "I really need to check this place out when it's open, that looks good."
