shellylh Posted December 21, 2015 Report Share Posted December 21, 2015 My two favorite places in SLO when I was in college were Gus's groceries (good subs, cheap beer, and laidback atmosphere - it's back) and Firestone Grill (for the tri-tip sandwich) but they may not be so good to go to when it's raining (all the seating at Gus's is outside). Sous vide rendered a perfect medium rare, seared off after the water bath in a cast iron pan. Not seen is a mixed green salad dressed perfectly. The steak was so tender.
