Augsburger Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Maybe they are so po they can't afford the bread? *edit* Ok, I now see the bread underneath the lettuce. Really really tiny bread. Edited May 6, 2015 by Augsburger
Voltron Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) The roll is at 90 degrees to the lobster, but that is the only real distinction I can see from every other po boy I have ever seen. Edited May 6, 2015 by Voltron
grawk Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 No pictures but i made tobiko with quail egg and soba sushi tonight.
Absorbine_Sr Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Pan seared, 24 hour smoked pork belly with sauerkraut purée, pineapple vinaigrette, dandelion, pickled radish and chicarron. 2
Voltron Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 ^That looks awesome Mike! Mother's Day brunch a la Alden and Al: Tyler Florence eggs benedict with cayenne hollandaise and prosciutto, bacon, hash browns, and fruit. 3
Dusty Chalk Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 In honor of mother's day, I am cooking for myself. Orange chicken with water chestnuts and bamboo shoots. This shit has been marinating for two weeks, sure hope I don't give myself food poisoning (it smelled fine).
MexicanDragon Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Mother's day dinner after my symphonic band concert. I told her I'd take her anywhere she wanted, and she chose Red Lobster. I think I had Cajun chicken linguini alfredo, fried shrimp, and some other chicken thing. Also, had a Bacardi Citron Strawberry Lemonade. Mom loved it, and that's what matters. **BRENT** 2
CarlSeibert Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Chicken and waffle sliders at Shuck and Dive. With tater tots.

That is a Red Lobster thing, innit? Been a while since I been...
MexicanDragon Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Most hushpuppies have onions in them, making them a worthless food. The last time I went to Red Lobster was probably 5 years ago when my now late grandmother gave me a gift card to there; it was her favorite restaurant. I'm sure I'll go again the next time my mom gets to pick. I'm still pretty full from eating 5 hours ago. Such a bad idea. **BRENT**
Dusty Chalk Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Onions would make them better, but I don't remember there being onions in hush puppies, though I could just be oblivious. Me, now: home cooked green curry veggies and chicken (green beans, okra, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots) -- hot! I need to figure out a way to temper this curry paste, one can of coconut milk does not cut it
MexicanDragon Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Obviously your taste buds took a wrong turn in Albuquerque. **BRENT**
Dusty Chalk Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Aren't onions a staple food of your people? I think it's your mama that took a wrong turn...
grawk Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Onions belong in many things but not hush puppies.
MexicanDragon Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 http://www.southernliving.com/food/kitchen-assistant/hush-puppies-recipe http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/hushpuppies-recipe.html http://www.food.com/recipe/hush-puppies-justin-wilson-style-87421 http://www.saveur.com/article/Recipes/Classic-Hush-Puppies http://www.justapinch.com/recipes/side/vegetable/copycat-long-john-silvers-hushpuppies.htmlhttp://www.justapinch.com/recipes/snack/other-snack/red-lobster-hush-puppies.html Quick sampling (including "Justin Wilson Style", though I'm sure ours has better taste). All include onions, including the Red Lobster hush puppy recipe. Dan is right, though. Onions belong in many places; the garbage, landfills, etc. They do not, however, belong in hush puppies. Unfortunately, most places ruin a perfectly good side by putting onions in them. **BRENT**
