seasonal cold noodles.
Hiyashi Chuka? So basically, it's a Japanese take on the Chinese dish? Like this? (I googled "Japanese cold noodles", because "seasonal cold noodles" didn't do it.) Or is it something else? Need to find some...will have to stop by my local asian store this weekend.

Just got back from El Mercadito, a very nice mexican joint real close to my house here. Got a beef tongue taco (authentic style), el pastor gordita, and the best tamale I've had pretty much ever. Grand total with a mexican coke: $13. I'm stuffed.

Haven't had beef tongue in a while. I think we may be in Tallahassee in early September

I'm making a smoked brisket and another brisket I'm making in the oven. Kind of a shoot out to decide what kind to make for Rosh Hashanah. Pics later.

Crumpets, from The Crumpet Shop, that a friend bough back from Pikes Place Market. We enjoyed them so much when we were in Seattle we had to have them again!.

We're having them with cream cheese, pesto, sliced roast chicken breast (no ham in the fridge!) and tomato slices. Yum!

kind of like this

Washed down with home made double lattes on the deck. Good start to a holiday weekend. :)
