Dusty Chalk Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Why, are they heartier because they spend so much of their life shivering? More muscle mass? More fat? Quote
guzziguy Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 x2 -- there's really nothing like fresh fish. Arctic Char? Similar but more delicate than salmon. Quote
DigiPete Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 and there's no fish quite like an alaskan salmon A buddy of mine went up there last week with some of his buddies and they rented a fishing boat. I got 10 lbs king, 10 lbs silver salmon, and 7 lbs halibut. Quote
grawk Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 they kept the red for themselves, eh? Quote
DigiPete Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Did not hear about any red? Is that the best? I thought King was? Quote
grawk Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 king is best for canning. Red salmon is BY FAR the best for eating. But it's pretty late for reds. Quote

grawk Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 monte cristo (ham and cheese sandwich, dipped in egg batter, then fried) Quote
JBLoudG20 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Do you dip the entire sandwich into the batter? Quote
JBLoudG20 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Well, I didn't knwo if you essentially make a ham and cheese sandwich, then dip the entire thing, or if you essentially make french toast, with ham and cheese. Quote
grawk Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 You don't make french toast, because only the outside of the bread is dipped in egg. You're supposed to dip the whole sandwich, but unless you're deep frying it, you'll end up with raw egg, which I avoid, so I just dip the outsides But the effect is french toast ham and cheese sandwich. JBLoudG20 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Either way its soudns tastey. Jacob, you got my shop? Quote
