JimP Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 I'm jealous of you guys in New England...I'm in a John Irving reading phase -- eg, Hotel New Hampshire, Cider House Rules, World According To Garp, Widow For A Year, etc -- seems like a wonderful place I would like to visit some day, half-way around the world. OK, to stay on topic -- cold pasta with canned tomato sauce (the wife is away for 2 weeks, she took the baby and our domestic helper) Any basic survival recipes (simple and easy), send them to me. boomana Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Vegan Pizza from Pizza Fusion. Most vegan pizza tastes lousy. This one is very good: eggplant, fresh garlic and onion. My breath is probably awful, and my belly is huge from eating too much, but I'm very happy Quote

grawk Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Cajun bait stew I took some asian "paealla" mix, mussels, salad shrimp, oysters, and the worst fake crab meat ever. Cooked it in what's basically an etouffee mix. Butter, flower, pepper, salt, cajun spice mix, bell peppers, onions, celery, beer, worchestershire sauce, rotel tomatoes. Rice cooked with tumeric. Cook it all, mix it together, serve. Looks nasty, tastes pretty good. Quote

swt61 Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Just built a giant fresh fruit salad...2 kinds of apple, pear, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, nectarines, kiwi, grapes and mandarin oranges. Then I made a sauce from sour creme, powdered sugar, lemon juice and Grand Marnier. As per usual I over bought, so I'm sitting on 2 gallons of fruit salad. My neighbors will get a visit later. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 It's kind of citrusy -- at first I was going to say Cheddar-Pineapple or Cheddar-Mango, but then I wanted to say lemon-lime, but the correct answer is, apparently, 'Mountain Dew'. They even tell you with the color on the packaging. Quote
