Nanoha Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 LOL Hi Nanoha, you mean AMB's M^3, the one that Stephen made? Not those either. But I'm not going to say what though.
Upstateguy Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Not those either. But I'm not going to say what though. then you must be referring to Jack's Woo3
Nanoha Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 then you must be referring to Jack's Woo3 http://www.fototime.com/02986961626E953/orig.jpg Seriously, what are you doing? Smiling and making random guesses that are obviously wrong.
Upstateguy Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 No... Could it be Cesar's Portaphile Maxx that you are referring to? edit: I didn't see your other post..... Well, since you brought it up, where is the crap then ?
Nanoha Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 I'm going to shut up now. I clearly said that I wouldn't say what, and I would never have expected those guesses either.

stevenkelby Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 When do you consider an amp "high end"? When my occiliscope tells me so...
Dusty Chalk Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 When you put the ultrauberomfg springs on the back wheels, and leave the fronts alone. No, wait, that's cars...
Knuckledragger Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 When they have this sound, power, looks, and can be run almost everyday, by two owners, over eight years........high end. Other possible criteria: You have to phone at least two friends if you wish to move them. They they let you pursue the fun hobby of coin fusing.Your space heater has been a dust collector since you got them. The lights dim when you turn them on ...four houses down. You need a snake hook the wrangle the power cord. The binding posts are bigger than your garden hose spigot.Additionally, if they double as boat anchors ...for the Queen Mary 2.

LOL....All of the above are easily overcome except the one about moving them. Two people..... move one amp.....rest....move the other amp.....rest....bitch about back pain. Lucky for me they were moved into position when the got here and wont be moved again unless sold or I move.
Dusty Chalk Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 ...there are people on Head-Case/-Fi/-Wize that are anticipating your pics/impressions more than you are anticipating the amp.
Nanoha Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 When the cost of the transformers is more than $2k USD.

MaloS Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 isn't that how RSA stuff gets described as on head-fi? go buy a B-52! From what I gather RSA is described as punchy with forward mids and crisp highs. More like than a gain-wire to me.

Nanoha Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 hehe, that's a good criteria. i'm a big believer in power supplies, especially with power amps (the thing that makes my Anthem so great, in my opinion, is that the powersupply is way over built, as they use the same one in the 2 channel and multi channel versions, AFAIK). Yes; good power supplies are good! Awesome output transformers are also awesome.
