EdipisReks1 Posted March 22, 2017 Report Posted March 22, 2017 I miss that DJ a bit. It was too small for my wrist, though. 1
luvdunhill Posted March 23, 2017 Report Posted March 23, 2017 That Omega Railmaster will find its way to me at some point. With Omegas not holding their value extremely well on the used market, yet the relatively small number of these - recommendations on strategy to acquire?

Wait until one pops up on Chrono24 for a price you like. It'll happen, sooner or later.

I've seen much, much, much more limited come up for sale on a pretty regular basis. There is currently a Dufour Simplicity listed. 3557 of each is a larger enough number that it wouldn't be a limited edition, for other brands. Remember that Maurice Lacroix I bought? I had no trouble tracking one down, and they had made about 200 (another watch that was just too thick). Edited March 23, 2017 by EdipisReks1
Hopstretch Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Speaking of limited editions, yes please. 6
TMoney Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 Apple started selling the Nike bands for the nerd-watch separately so I picked one up. I like it. Light-weight and breathable.
EdipisReks1 Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 I have to say, I really rather like the Bulgari Octo Finissimo. It's also a lot less expensive than I would have expected.

Emooze Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 My SCED035 which I don't think I ever posted but it did get recognition from a fellow watch nerd recently. It's a good understated watch and my daily wear right now.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk 4

Grahame Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Interesting ... http://wornandwound.com/review/seiko-x-giugiaro-sced035-ripley-review/
Hopstretch Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Lot of online bitching about the 41mm size but I think they will sell a boatload of these bigger steel Datejusts. Including one to me. The blue sunray dial is so choice. Baton markers still a bit chunky but the larger dial helps in this regard. 2
VPI Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Yeah. I will be buying one of those myself. Love the blue dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

Nice, man.

EdipisReks1 Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 GMT goes off to ABC Watchwerks, tomorrow. Movement service, plus they are putting a conservative chamfer on the lugs (and welding up, if necessary). I have been quoted 6 weeks. We'll see. The last time I was quoted 6 weeks, it took 8 months, and less was being done.
EdipisReks1 Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 This is a checkup: how are you and your wife liking the new watches, Chris? Still happy?

Story of the (watch) service industry! Really is amazing how bad both the manufacturers and independents can be. Maybe the current sales slump will help -- fewer pieces going out the door to come back for service. But they'll probably also eliminate watchmaker positions to cut costs, so who knows? 1
luvdunhill Posted May 10, 2017 Report Posted May 10, 2017 I need to get some servicing done myself. I mean, have someone else do the servicing. Yes, that too.

I'll let you know how ABC does. I'm having a very specific late 60s chamfer cut into the lugs. If they can do that right, they can do anything. Edited May 10, 2017 by EdipisReks1
tkam Posted May 13, 2017 Report Posted May 13, 2017 Bought one of these recently: Christopher Ward C65 Trident Vintage Edition 7
Rossliew Posted May 16, 2017 Report Posted May 16, 2017 Anyone here find the Seiko Tuna watches attractive?
