HeadphoneAddict Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 Nice watch. I've played with that one a few times at the store and like the white, grey and blue dials. Hard to decide which color is better when you see them all in person.
luvdunhill Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) I ended up listing some items and would entertain HC pricing, but no trades unfortunately:http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=1069281http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=1070641 Edited September 7, 2014 by luvdunhill
luvdunhill Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 yeah, they are a lot of fun, but looking to try something else... perhaps the Omega 8508..

nikongod Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 This one is my favourite, a 40 years old 23 jewels automatic Seiko. Non Stop, no service, and some electrical discharges... ------ Desde el otro lado ------- My father had that same watch. Maybe slightly different face, but same case.
morphsci Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Actually it moved out of Customs yesterday morning and it left Champaign at 4:40 this morning.
n_maher Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Noice! I've actually been wearing my Suuto Core (black) again the last few weeks and remembering why I bought it in the first place.
Dreadhead Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I got rid of my stupid activity tracking watch and I've been rotating through my Zenith El Primero, Breitling Emergency and Suunto Ambit 2 on a daily basis. Each one is different but I think I probably like tha Ambit the best.
n_maher Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 I wish the Elementum line wasn't so expensive.
Dreadhead Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 Yeah. I want the D9TX dive watch but I haven't gone diving in a decade or more. It's just very cool.
Salt Peanuts Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 This thread makes me want a nice new warch, but I'd break/damage it at work real fast.
morphsci Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 Seiko SARX015 Thanks Reks and Posty. Still need to adjust the date and band. 5
morphsci Posted September 21, 2014 Report Posted September 21, 2014 It is really nice. The craftsmanship is very good and I love it's overall simplicity. Excellent suggestion sir.
HeadphoneAddict Posted October 8, 2014 Report Posted October 8, 2014 I picked up this black Luminox Colormark up last week with a partial trade of a couple of Eco-Drive perpetual calendar chronographs. It's the steel version with screw down crown and case-back. I'm down to one titanium Eco-Drive perpetual calendar now, but I wear my Luminox 1842 Field Chronograph more anyway. I love the tritium gas tubes for night viewing (thought about buying Marc's Ball swiss auto for that reason). So, now I have a black Colormark to go with my previous white one (below). They're very comfortable, but I did replace the rubber strap with another Luminox strap that fits me a little better.
Knuckledragger Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 This is a watch thread, right? As I have mentioned, I grew up in the antique business. My father left behind a lot of stuff. I found this today while cleaning: Dunno a thing about it. 3
Voltron Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 Dunno anything other than it looks beautiful.
Grahame Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Agree on the looks google via http://elginwatches.org/help/serial_number_info.html would make it c. 1908 if you can get the serial number off the movement you can use http://elginwatches.org/databases/elgin_sn_intro.html More http://elginwatches.org/databases/index.html It seems people obsess over these things http://elginwatches.org/index.html like headphones ... nikongod Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) I dont know if it will be any help, but the odd dial just below the 12'oclock position (from 40 to 0) appears to be a winding indicator. http://elginwatches.org/scans/sales_catalogs/1917_Oskamp-Nolting/m_pg_E3.html Edited: I found this too. http://www.bogoff.com/pocket/6727.html Edited October 14, 2014 by nikongod
Dusty Chalk Posted October 14, 2014 Author Report Posted October 14, 2014 Fob watches are cool. Now get a monocle. 1
Grahame Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 Fob watches are cool. Now get a monocle. Waistcoat, gold chain, Top Hat, gloves and (sword) cane not included. 2
Knuckledragger Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 With some considerable care, I got the thing open. More photos later.
Dreadhead Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Great aunt's pocket watch. We had it repaired a few years ago along with my great grandmother's mantle clock . Edited October 15, 2014 by Dreadhead 2
