tyrion Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 You are both right. My other watches are larger and that's what I am used to. This one is a beauty and the Planet Ocean arriving tomorrow is 42 so I may keep both and sell all but one of the others. I want to either keep the Doxa or the Resco Patriot.
VPI Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 How about a decent pic with the new leatherwear.
n_maher Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Did Mike tell you he was giving the Speedmaster to you as a birthday gift?! That would certainly be ok by me! Edit - or the Doxa...
kevin gilmore Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 i love mine, too bad its not anti-magnetic but is 18k gold http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/dsc_0752.jpg
Dusty Chalk Posted March 4, 2011 Author Report Posted March 4, 2011 Resurrecting the dead thread. Anyone have a rec for a decent multi-watch winder?Me? I'll wear them alternately throughout the day. Or simultaneously, build up arm muscles. Srsly: I'll give you the same advice that I received (but haven't followed yet) -- don't skimp. The cheap ones will magnetize your watch and throw off the timing. There are two big names, Orbita and...I forget the other one. Get one of those, just look for the best price you can get for one of those that meets your needs. My solution has been to wear my automatics once a month -- I choose when to wear them based on the date they stopped the previous month. I have about 10 of them at this point, I think (1 Ocean7, 3 Androids, 1 Armitron, and the rest are Invictas). I have a couple of cheapies, but I don't care about those, I don't wear them once a month.
Dreadhead Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Here's my Breitling Emergency: It's a bigger watch with all the antennae and stuff but because it's titanium it's pretty light.
Dreadhead Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 i love mine, too bad its not anti-magnetic but is 18k gold http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/dsc_0752.jpg Nice watch. I don't think I'll ever pull off a yellow gold watch, I'm just too hard on cases.
tyrion Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Thanks. This is the watch I've wanted for a while and is a keeper. This one is a 42mm and the perfect the perfect size. Now to figure out which of the other ones will be sold.
Torpedo Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Yep, as much of a classic as the Submariner. Congrats Mike.
n_maher Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Do me a favor mike don't list any of them for sale here please. The new arrival is gorgeous.
tyrion Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 I'll make you a nice deal on the Doxa. Just saying.

Dusty Chalk Posted March 5, 2011 Author Report Posted March 5, 2011 Hey, just think, you can go back into business building and fixing stuff for people to pay it off. We'll make a capitalist of you yet.

VPI Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) So my Orbita watch winder came in the mail today and I spent the rest of the evening watching my pretties spinning. Edited March 16, 2011 by VPI
