Grand Enigma Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 This amuses me, but secretly have a lot of respect, as I've known guys who'd get 7-8 hours in your position. **BRENT**Hard to be 3 places at once, and I don't have the boobs to help out one of them. 1
Grand Enigma Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 I have a new black and polar flavor of that one in storage. Complete kits with engraved rehut and 3186 movement.Vintage Rolex feels very average after handling the current generation. The old bracelets are terrible.
swt61 Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Zach, if it feels too big, I get it, but it really doesn't look too big. Certainly not out of place or gaingly. It's a great looking watch IMO. 1
shellylh Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Didn't realize that Steve was talking about watches. 4
Grand Enigma Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Didn't realize that Steve was talking about watches. Jerk This is the issue for me, it doesn't lay flat.
EdipisReks1 Posted October 11, 2016 Report Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) If the new Hodinkee Zenith had been released a year ago, I'd be lining up to get one. Hopefully Zenith gets the picture and continues on with smaller watches. This is a great size for a dressy chrono. On 10/2/2016 at 0:36 PM, Grand Enigma said: The old bracelets are terrible. You get dumber every time you open your mouth. It's pretty impressive, really. The old bracelets are extremely sturdy for their weight. This is why the Omega 1171 is a classic bracelet design: it doesn't weigh anything, but gets the job done. These are tool watches. Edited October 11, 2016 by EdipisReks1 1
swt61 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 ^ Can I like that for Shelly? I know she's gonna pound that Like this button when she reads this! Her and Zach have a special relationship. 3
Grand Enigma Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 Reks1 reminds me of my 8th grade engrish teacher. Thanks for letting me know my opinion is wrong because its not the same as yours. Will not change the fact that I much prefer their new bracelets. Also, you are more dumber. 13 hours ago, swt61 said: ^ Can I like that for Shelly? swt61 Posted October 12, 2016 Report Posted October 12, 2016 ^ Because my role models are Presidential candidates. 2

morphsci Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 This is the watch I have always wanted, and it keeps perfect time.
Craig Sawyers Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 I thought I had a basic grasp of the tourbillon, until I chanced on a 3-axis version. Just a pity the cages look so roughly finished. 4
Hopstretch Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 This Zenith CP2 reissue is pretty nice, I think. 1

I wish it weren't 43mm, but I know that the original was, too. Great typeface on the bezel insert. Lovely watch. I like that Zenith is getting some real attention in the US, now. Torpedo Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 I like it a lot, but my wrist isn't large enough for that size. Reminds quite a bit of some of the Autavia models, but I like its larger subdials. Zenith used to make some of the best movements in the business, but since it's owned by LVMH they're doing some weird things like those silly Rolling Stones tribute watches, or pilot watches that not even Godzilla would wear This CP2 is awesome.
EdipisReks1 Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 They still make some of the best movements in the business, even in the Rolling Stones tribute watches.
Hopstretch Posted October 17, 2016 Report Posted October 17, 2016 I agree with both of you! Zenith's horrible aesthetic choices in recent years have definitely let down their very creditable technical heritage.

Dreadhead Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 Anyone seen a Nomos Zurich Worldtimer in person? I am considering this for my 10 year anniversary vs the Grand Seiko Spring Drive Titanium diver.
Hopstretch Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 I've tried it on a few times. The dial is great but the lugs are really quite long, which made it wear a little uncomfortably for me. I think that on a larger wrist it would be fine. 2
Dreadhead Posted November 14, 2016 Report Posted November 14, 2016 That doesn't sound promising for me then. Thanks for the feedback!
