boomana Posted December 25, 2010 Report Posted December 25, 2010 I'm not particularly into watches, but my dad got this cool one for Christmas. It looks better in person than in this iphone pic. It's from 1954 and the coaches were given these as gifts. My dad's basically impossible to buy for, but he's been both a MSU and Omega fan for decades, so he's pretty thrilled. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted December 26, 2010 Author Report Posted December 26, 2010 A 56-year-old Omega Seamaster? Yeah, that's pretty cool. Quote

Guess I'm pretty much like your father, hard to buy for and a lifelong Spartan fan Quote
Dreadhead Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 for the McIntosh Heads out there I present the McIntosh Clock: McIntosh MCLK12 wall clock sports fancy face, massive price tag -- Engadget Quote
VPI Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Resurrecting the dead thread. Anyone have a rec for a decent multi-watch winder? And some pics. Quote
Voltron Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 damn that is a nice watch... There are two watches pictured, but I have to imagine you mean the Panerai because it is stunning and you might not even notice the Suunto after seeing it. Beautiful choices Jeff. Quote
grawk Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I saw a little digital thing hanging there after the watch, but well, I didn't figure I needed to specify Quote
VPI Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Don't dis the Suunto. It is an excellent watch and has moved into the rotation as my casual watch over the old Omega Seamaster Pro Bond. Quote
tyrion Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I love the Panerai Jeff. One day I will add one to the collection. Right now I'm looking for a nice deal on an Omega Planet Ocean. I also am considering this watch: and this one which is a ceramic case set to be available in June: Thursday wrist shot: Quote
VPI Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Made a trip over to the Panerai Boutique during lunch and picked several of their overpriced straps. Put the Carbon Fiber leather on for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Dreadhead Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 (edited) You guys are much more dedicated than I. I wore my Breitling Emergency for the first time in months over the last weekend and I'm back to my Zenith El Primero. I wish I could just sell one of them but both were gifts..... much rather have some new wheels. That said the Omegas are sexy... Edited March 3, 2011 by Dreadhead Quote
tyrion Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Here is the Speedmaster. Its a little smaller than I typically wear so we will see how long it remains. Quote
tyrion Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 They always look better in pics then in person. It's a damn nice watch. Quote
Dreadhead Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 (edited) Here's my Zenith which I would qualify as medium sized: I actually got my Breitling from my dad because it was too big for his wrist (and my mother wanted me to have a beacon if I fell off my boat ) Edit: sorry the pic came out so huge.... I have a Zenith El Primero as well but I findit hard to read sometimes with the second hand nearly identical in appearance to the minute hand. Yeah, Panerais and omegas are sexy. Voltron Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Did Mike tell you he was giving the Speedmaster to you as a birthday gift?! Quote
tyrion Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Did Mike tell you he was giving the Speedmaster to you as a birthday gift?! The watch looks so much better in that pic. It's a 40mm which should be large enough. I guess I need to get used to it. Quote
