Augsburger Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 ham in natural juices ginger snaps Is that a cocktail or weekend BBQ?
grawk Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Well, it's got bourbon in it, so I guess it's a cocktail.
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 two tickets to Dark Lord Day 2011:)... Ditto. We had five computers going and only I got tickets.
emelius Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 ^^awesome...a lotta complaints about the system this year...it was run by a branch of ticketmaster...some people took their time filling out their info thinking they had tickets locked in...& that city/state button was just mindbogglingly stupid...was that a countermeasure against bots?...if so, it doesn't seem to have worked...lotta brokers/scalpers got tickets...$350 for 2 tickets on stubhub, $80 for 1 on craig's list...
grawk Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 or it's not brokers, but people looking to flip the tickets if they can.
grawk Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 nice Eagle Rare is what i used in the affore mentioned ham/ginger snap cocktail
morphsci Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 Nice Raffy. having trouble finding the van winkle rye around here lately. the eagle rare is good stuff.
MexicanDragon Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I must have a shitty bottle of Eagle Rare, as most of you guys like it a good bit. The bottle I have, it seems sub-par in the price range (32$ around here). **BRENT**
morphsci Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 I think it is actually pretty good at it's price point, but I prefer the slightly higher $40-50 price point. Lots of good bourbon there.
Aura Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 One of the many unfortunates who missed out on DL tix, as Mike is well aware. Decided to buy an extra brew for my stout tasting to try and make myself feel better - Boulevard Smokestack Imperial Stout. Glad you were able to land tickets as well Emelius.
shellylh Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 3 pounds of beef jerky (jalapeno and hickory smoked) from Woody's Smokehouse on my drive home.
Driftwood Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Ordered a new sofa, the 98" Kensington from Restoration Hardware:
deepak Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Got it yesterday morning. With just under 10 hours listening this is damn good digital. A lifer source I guess there were a lot of upgrades done to the Platinum version, the literature mentions Blackgatez damn son
spritzer Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 What you haven't opened it up yet? Btw. I spy some of my handiwork sitting next to it...
deepak Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 What you haven't opened it up yet? Btw. I spy some of my handiwork sitting next to it... I opened it up before turning it on to make sure nothing was awry. I should have taken pics before putting it in the rack , it was a pain in the butt to install, since it's dual mono the analog outputs are on opposite sides plus the IEC inlet is sideways. Nearly had a 10 lb steel lamp knock me on the head while trying to fit the cables in That is indeed your handiwork, a stop gap while waiting for the T2
tyrion Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 For those who got Dark Lord tickets, congrats! Raffy, good grab on the VW Rye. The last time I saw a bottle I bought and have not seen any since.
shellylh Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Emotiva XDA-1 DAC to use in the bedroom with the Audioengine A5's.
blessingx Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Congrats Shelly. What are you feeding it with? Still debating on purchase myself.
shellylh Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 Right now, I use Apple TV or Airport Express straight to the A5's, I will probably continue to do this with the DAC in between.
Knuckledragger Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 Eight 32oz bottles of Dr. Wood's (no relation) Pure Peppermint Castile Soap, for $50 shipped. I'm tired of paying for Dr. Bronner's.
raffy Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 For those who got Dark Lord tickets, congrats! Raffy, good grab on the VW Rye. The last time I saw a bottle I bought and have not seen any since. Thanks Mike, I do like the VW Rye so I'm glad I grabbed the last bottle. Hopefully the dive bar/liquor store I got it from will get more in. As for the Eagle Rare, I'm kinda conflicted on it....very simple tasting but easy to drink. Almost too kind for a bourbon. I guess at $28/bottle, it's not bad.
Pars Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Dreadhead will laff his ass off at this, but a Japanese bike bell: Getting tired of yelling "on your left" on the rarer occasions that I am on a path...
Grahame Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Having just paid more for the local dealer to read the codes after Joanne told me the check engine light came on, and tell me that "All the sensors were OK, so we reset the light", I decided to acquire the capability for myself, should it happen again.
