Duggeh Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 I decided to cross-post in this thread from the other. But that Sidecar cocktail seems most satisfactory.
Voltron Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 I decided to cross-post in this thread from the other. But that Sidecar cocktail seems most satisfactory. 'tis quite satisfying. Nice and tart and boozy enough for me but palatable for the Mrs.as well.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Grabbed one on a way home from Portsmouth.
Torpedo Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 A black Pico amp despite I haven't used a portable amp for ages
Aura Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 ^ I'm with ya Torpedo ^ Just bought Velo's Pico Slim. How in the hell do I go from no portable rig to SE530 + Pico Slim in less than 72 hours? Good lord...
en480c4 Posted April 24, 2010 Report Posted April 24, 2010 Dell Mini 10v running OSX 10.6.3 Didn't keep the Mac Mini long enough to really get a feel for OSX... Considering the high cost of entry for a MacBook / MacBook Pro, I wanted a chance to play around with it a bit and get to know it before plunking down the coin required for a real Mac. I've had a chance to explore a bit and my world is officially rocked. And I'm quite impressed at how snappy the netbook is running it. Despite the success of the iPad, I'm shocked that Apple couldn't find a way to justify a 10" MacBook Mini or something. The form factor is fantastic, fits in my carry on and to be honest, I prefer the size of it at home for typical web browsing as well. The 15" Lenovo feels way too big after a little time is spent with this thing. Pretty sure the girlfriend and I will be saving for a real Mac later in the summer... Probably a 13" MacBook Pro, which seems to have the best balance of portability, performance and screen real estate.
n_maher Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Dell Mini 10v running OSX 10.6.3Heh, that didn't take long.
en480c4 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Heh, that didn't take long. As you know, for better or worse, once I decide something, it usually doesn't take long at all!
n_maher Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 As you know, for better or worse, once I decide something, it usually doesn't take long at all! Lauren might not quite agree with that statement. Lock that shit up
n_maher Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 I deserved that... She may have paid me to say it.
Superpredator Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Pioneer SX-3700. It looked so shiny amidst the other electronic junk at the thrift shop. Also a sweet $1 RCA coax. Sounds like peanut butter.
Knuckledragger Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Ooh, purty. I know what that is. How's the push-pull zoom feel? My copy has a not insignificant case of "gravity zoom," which is in truth an annoyance, but not a hindrance to taking pictures.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Ooh, purty. I know what that is. How's the push-pull zoom feel? My copy has a not insignificant case of "gravity zoom," which is in truth an annoyance, but not a hindrance to taking pictures. The push-pull zoom is rather loose, but I gave up looking for one that isn't loose after number of sellers told me their copy was loose. I may try the electrical tape trick to make it bit tighter. I found one that was/is supposedly not loose - claimed as near NOS - but wasn't willing to pay the asking price. There are also some dusts in there, but I guess that's to be expected. Predictably, I haven't been able to use it yet since the adapter I bought has yet to arrive.
nikongod Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Why do you need an adapter? Nikons cameras & lenses all work together in varying shades of harmony.
n_maher Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Why do you need an adapter? Nikons cameras & lenses all work together in varying shades of harmony. I think Salty has a canon body.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 I think Salty has a canon body. This. Acquired couple of groove joint pliers as my old one appears to have fallen victim to the black hole that is my basement. I should have bought myself another toolbox as well since the current one is quite full.
Cankin Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 HeadAmp GS-1 Please write a GS-1 vs Ha-006+ review. I expect the GS-1 will be the winner but please tell me how close/far they are.
