jp11801 Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 WTF? I thought you loved that 845 beasty. Third time around with the McCormack, or fourth? Congrats. Third time's a charm, just fired it up 30 minutes ago and the sound is sweet. I do/did love the 845 but between heat and tubes I decided to head back into SS territory for power amp needs.
jp11801 Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Get O2s naow. Bitches need to sell a playa some O2s

I do/did love the 845 but between heat and tubes I decided to head back into SS territory for power amp needs. Well, as you know, I loves me some McCormack, and my SS power amps are built right into my speakers, so there you go!
spritzer Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Just got the latest Mouser order and I managed to order the wrong rotary switch. I really need to be able to switch the input ground but in my infinite wisdom bought a 2P6T instead of 3P4T... :palm: Replacement chinese T-amp arrived. This one works. Rather it functions. But it really is a piece of shit. Loads of hiss and some really hard ultrasonic or high treble energy which gives me a headache no matter what I attatch to it. Tone controls are awful. Might be able to cure some of this by modding it a bit. Replace the input op-amp, bypass the bass and treble dials, put in some better caps etc. Just not sure if it's worth the bother even if I had the time. Newest version of the one to be found talked about here. Just get one of the Muse T-amps and be done with it. Not great by any means but sounds ok with Stax transformers and it works just fine driving the Spendors for TV duty. You could always build a gainclone on the cheap...
Augsburger Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Some Ojai Pinot and a three pack of Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon. Many years on the waiting list and finally.
aardvark baguette Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 If I get an ipad, it wont be until they've been out a while. As an ex- first-gen iphone owner, I see the advantage to waiting a bit now. Plus I have no monies, which helps.
MoonShine Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 probably? i have a cinematube, myself. Oooh... that looks good, thanks!
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Beatles Mono box set. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Salt Peanuts Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Paid for Pico Slim pre-order. I'm not in the first 250, but I figured I'd just pay for it while I remember since I don't frequent the HF that often anymore.
Hopstretch Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 I don't consider two preorders a buy. Legal hairsplitting! Pre-ordered one of these for SA.
Nebby Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Is this a good deal? Patriot Box Office Was lucky to get one from a raffle, it plays virtually everything though the UI leaves a bit to be desired.

Grahame Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Legal hairsplitting! Pre-ordered one of these for SA. Did you get the optional extras? CNN - Flamethrower now an option on S. African cars - December 11, 1998 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaster_(flamethrower)
Hopstretch Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 That is precisely why I do not intend to drive on the actual roads, per se.

Hopstretch Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 We'll see. Remember the old joke about Land Rovers: Why do they have rear defrosters? To keep your hands warm while you're pushing them to the garage.
swt61 Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Yes, but the best thing about British cars today is that they're no longer British.
Augsburger Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 A mixed case of Seasmoke Cellars Southing and Ten Pinot. Living room system needs moar tweaking.
spritzer Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Yes, but the best thing about British cars today is that they're no longer British. Tru dat. They are German through and through, especially the Land/Range Rovers.
