Grahame Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 How active is the craigslist/furniture section in your local community? occasionally some salamander stuff turns up in the A/V section (or use the search craigslist/for sale box) Viewing/delivery can eat into any potential savings, but you never know..
Voltron Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 SF Jazz Festival tickets: Nicholas Payton & Don Byron at Grace Cathedral Ornette Coleman at Davies Symphony Hall
Voltron Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 I doubt I will be hanging out with him.
Smeggy Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Well I finally caved and bought my first ipod, 8gig touch.
Augsburger Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Slippery slope. So when ya gettin' the Metric Halo ULN2?
VPI Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I bought my Metric Halo less than two months after buying the 64Gb Touch. Coincidence?
Bob_McBob Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Picked this up on a bit of a whim: Victorinox Alpnach Automatic Chrono. It was either this or new Westones, and the damn watch won.
VPI Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I don't have any of these funny plugs on any of my cables so no opinion yet.
Augsburger Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I don't have any of these funny plugs on any of my cables so no opinion yet. In a pinch, any guitar store will have those TRS>XLR or TRS>RCA.
n_maher Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I don't have any of these funny plugs on any of my cables so no opinion yet. We can fix that easy enough.
Dreadhead Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Congrats on the Metric Halo. I look forward to hearing your impressions.
screaming oranges Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I absolutely cannot buy anything else for the rest of the year. If anyone sees me tempted, please PLEASE stop me. I... dammit... I just couldn't resist and sent Craig my down payment for a BA. Next year will be a good year when I receive the BA and the BHSE. I think I'm done. EDIT: other than a preamp with multiple balanced in/outs for quick switching of my sources/amps.
screaming oranges Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I ate a word. I meant, "I think I'm done for." Better, yes?
veloaudio Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I think I'm done. I tell myself the same lie all the time. Exhibit A: JH13's
Dreadhead Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I tell myself the same lie all the time. Exhibit A: JH13's Yep. I tell myself it and I've actually followed through for a couple months but now I really want to buy tickets to a meet at which I will likely hear JH13s and do something rather stupid. Edit: I have a friend building me a DIY DynaFET but that doesn't count since I committed months ago and won't get it for months.

screaming oranges Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 You do understand that this is like asking an alcoholic friend to help you stop drinking, right? Come to think of it, let us say that, in order to stop myself from making any further audio-gear related purchases this year, I make a contract binding myself to the act that, if I ever do make a gear-related purchase, I have to buy a matching set for another head-caser, and said contract is signed by my person as well as by two witnesses, besides being a great deterrent to keep my wallet happy, would this be sufficient legal documentation if someone were to bring the case to court?
grawk Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I'll trust you to follow that contract if you make me the 2nd /me prepares to send vicki over to demo r10s for you...
Hopstretch Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 There is some truly debauched gear sluttery underway on Head Case right now. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.
