Knuckledragger
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D. My first prime! But this is a terrible slippery slope that I now find myself on...... Nice. You'll want to look at the 35mm F/2 next.
Beefy
Nice. You'll want to look at the 35mm F/2 next. Son of a...... I've got to learn how to use this lens effectively first. Actually using it at f/1.8 is proving to be quite a test of my still-undeveloped-skills

n_maher
Heh, you guys and your fancy clocks. All I want is a Chelsea Ship's Clock, which unfortunately are insanely expensive for good examples.
kevin gilmore
I have one of these: I have a 1940's art deco version. Its in the shop at the moment for a new bellows and suspension spring. Putting it in the shop created an empty place that needed to be filled with another clock... estimate 14 week repair time. Dusty Chalk
They're both gorgeous clocks...if I was into clocks. But the interminable ticking drives me bonkers. I don't mind one in the house, as long as it's not loud. Or are those the kind that have the fancy pendulum/gear mechanism, so they essentially don't tick? I think I'd like one of those. But what I really want is a tube clock.
kevin gilmore
The sea clock cannot be heard unless you are right on top of it. Even then you would have to listen for it. It beats once every 2 seconds. The atmos can't be heard at all. It beats once every 15 seconds (i think) If you want quiet, then get a congreve ball clock

tyrion
As far as I can tell the Atmos is silent. I think mine is about 30+ years old.
