justin Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 All this talk of desktop systems -- let alone the collapse of the economy -- finally got me to pull the trigger on my dream office system: First, some Nugget Vaughn Collective cables (RCAs, super shorty bi-wire speaker cables). i believe you have my cable
Voltron Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 i believe you have my cable I was told that I could listen to my music through that cable at a reasonable level. /mumbles* Ok, but I can set this building on fire.
aardvark baguette Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 They had Gary Cole on the local radio station this morning. I like his work.
Duggeh Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 A Gamucci Elite electric cigarette.
The Monkey Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 A pair of shoes that turned out to be too fucking big.
Grahame Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 All this talk of desktop systems -- let alone the collapse of the economy -- finally got me to pull the trigger on my dream office system: First, some Nugget Vaughn Collective cables (RCAs, super shorty bi-wire speaker cables). Next, a couple of these HeadRoom Bi-Amp MonoBlocks that will be fed by my existing HeadRoom Desktop Amp/Dac, which just received completely new amp board, modules, and volume pot: Then, a couple of these HeadRoom Speaker Stands: To hold these beautiful Harbeth HL-P3ES-2 mini-monitors: Well, I hope it will all seem worthwhile once it is set up and rocking my office. The anticipation already has me worked up pretty good. And to think, you were wondering what to bring to the Marin Meet. Sir, I applaud your dedication to the cause.
Fungi Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Nate, where are you getting all these fancy looking RCAs lately now that ProFis aren't in stock? And what are they besides the Vampire ones you used on some other cables?
n_maher Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 i believe you have my cable Inspired by, to be sure.
The Monkey Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Investment in HiFi gears is the safest place to park one's $$ these days.
swt61 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 All this talk of desktop systems -- let alone the collapse of the economy -- finally got me to pull the trigger on my dream office system: Gorgeous system Voltron! Those Harbeth's are mouth watering!
Old Pa Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Brave man! Falling knives and all that. X2 !!!!?? Yup, me and Warren.
en480c4 Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Tire & wheel package for the Jeep (Wrangler Rubicon take-offs). The black steel wheels just weren't doing it for me. And when I sell the ones it came with, it'll only end up costing me around $150. Those, and a used set of Thule towers for the factory rack rails so I can get my gear up on the roof. $40 for something that should've cost almost $200. Wuhoo!
Hopstretch Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I wouldn't take that to the bank yet, Pa. Even if you can find one that's still open.
Old Pa Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 I wouldn't take that to the bank yet, Pa. Even if you can find one that's still open. Oh no, not for years. Plenty more in the bank.
n_maher Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 Nate, where are you getting all these fancy looking RCAs lately now that ProFis aren't in stock? And what are they besides the Vampire ones you used on some other cables? Those RCA's are some Cardas plugs that I picked up as a part of a misc. parts lot that I bought recently. They've confirmed my opinion that with the exception of the Cardas Senn connectors that I use out of necessity Cardas connectors are the devil. Between the Rhodium plating taking about 1000 degrees to make a good joint and the complete lack of practical strain relief I am not a fan. Pro-Fi's for life, yo.
Hopstretch Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 It appears to be doing everything but telling the time.
n_maher Posted September 26, 2008 Report Posted September 26, 2008 It appears to be doing everything but telling the time. It'll do that to, along with several other neat features. Now to track down a plain black band for it for when I don't want to stand out. Then it'll be Dusty Chalk approved.
Knuckledragger Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 58mm circular polarizer 58mm FLD filter 58mm 812 warming filter 58mm ND 2 filter 77mm circular polarizer Lowepro Filter Pocket Total cost: $42, or about half the price of the 77mm CP if I bought it new.

boomana Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 Congrats, Al! I'm happily jealous of you. I have bought nothing interesting of late. Did pick up some cat food last night \

swt61 Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 I needed a new job site radio, and this one has a sealed compartment for an iPod, as well as the 20 pin connection. Put my 160Gb. iPod on shuffle and let her rip.
swt61 Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 I'm downloading Cher's greatest hits on my iPod now, just to torture my crew Monday morning.
