DigiPete Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 For the Vinyl Rig and VAC*1 power supply I tried it out today at home, vs. the phono preamp built into my Denon receiver.... WOW!! The slightly muffled and veiled sound and smaller soundstage that was kinda bothering me disappeared. I thought it might be the turntable or cartridge... not!

aardvark baguette Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 there are some really nice recordings, in there. some of them, especially the Fritz Reiner recordings, are going to sound "old," just a warning. I'm not too worried. I sampled some on Rhapsody and liked what I heard. Plus I've been most pleased with sets 1 & 2, and a bunch of that is Fritz stuff too. I like these box sets, as they seem like a great place to "start" with classical.
Chekhonte Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 I just bought a 320GB portable harddrive for my laptop.
boomana Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Not quite a purchase, but I paid the fee for too much weight to bring my APL Phillips (formerly Todd's) home from DC in Dan's Pelican case. I'm really happy with how it sounded with the BHSE.
n_maher Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Looks like it would be stable to me Twas a joke, Pete. If that thing ever tips over it won't be the fault of the stand.
