Dusty Chalk Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 A lot of heat shrink and multifilament.Shouldn't this be in the 'What are you smoking?' thread? J/K...
postjack Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Two tickets to: Opeth High On Fire Baroness Live at the House of Blues in New Orleans, October 18th. I have never heard of High On Fire, but Baroness is kick ass.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 High On Fire are fun, almost like a Black Sabbath tribute band doing original material. Cheese factor is kind of high, but you'll have to let me know if that carries over live.
DigiPete Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 got the vinyl rig going yesterday with this
Fungi Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Two tickets to: I have never heard of High On Fire, but Baroness is kick ass. High On Fire - Brothers in the Wind is excellent. Hope you get to see it live (and enjoy it).
luvdunhill Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 got the vinyl rig going yesterday with this nice. what are the loading recommendations for this? 1k or so?
DigiPete Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Not sure. The specs on the cart show 47kohm and my receiver inputs are 47kohm
grawk Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 a box of 50 old jazz albums. I'll be picking the ones I like, and putting the rest up for sale soon.

aardvark baguette Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 a box of 50 old jazz albums. I'll be picking the ones I like, and putting the rest up for sale soon. Just save us all some time and send them to Luis
aardvark baguette Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 (not my photo) Sony GDM-FW900 24" CRT via ebay. Flat screen, does 1920X1200 I may pickup a second one, once I see how much space it takes up.
grawk Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 They take up a TON of space I used to have the 21" version of that monitor. They're awesome, but massive.
aardvark baguette Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I've been researching LCDs, but I finally just said forget it. I miss the advantages of a good CRT. I currently have 2 Ikea Jerker tables mashed together in my room, so at least the weight wont be an issue.
grawk Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 I sold my $900 sony 21" monitor for $75 when I left alaska...I didn't want to pay $100 to move it.
aardvark baguette Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Shipping was more $ than the monitor I just hope it gets here in one piece.
grawk Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 But good LCDs are WAY more expensive than good monitors, even still.
Looser101 Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Computer upgrade time: Asus P5Q-E Mobo Intel E8400 Cpu G.Skill PC-8500 4Gb kit Ram Sapphire HD4850 Video 2x Seagate 500Gb 7200.11 Storage Raid0
aardvark baguette Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 But good LCDs are WAY more expensive than good monitors, even still. That was my motivation to go with the CRT. The one thing I do like about modern LCDs is the wide aspect ratio. Most CRTs dont have that, but luckily there were some widescreen models made before they switched to LCD technology, including the Sony I bought. Plus apparently it has a relatively flat screen to boot.
