JBLoudG20 Posted September 19, 2007 Author Report Posted September 19, 2007 Sold my old textbooks. Bought a VTG. Have you received them yet? How are they. Pics now go.
riceboy Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 a new edition of the Idiot, by Dostoyevsky. a friend of mine, a professor where i go to school, applied one of my paper's from last year into a grant competition, without my knowledge!, and i won $2000, so i have some spare cash now Wow nice. I liked reading Dostoyevsky when I had Philosophy in college . Also, the cigars and scotch that you have sounds good.
postjack Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 i just bought these, anyone know if they are any good?
postjack Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 maybe you should have asked before you bought yeah but they looked good so. i think a good way to judge a classical album is by its cover. if the conductor looks smart on the cover its probably good music. also if it was in the 50s and 60s its good.
hYdrociTy Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 the second guy doesn't look too smart. He looks bugged out.
postjack Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 the second guy doesn't look too smart. He looks bugged out. yeah actually the second looks totally lame. it'll probably be bad.
postjack Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 well, duh, it's Dvor?k though i do rather like his cello concerto... yeah I pretty much have no idea what kind of classical I like, so I'm listening to all of it. It'll probably take me a loooong time to hone down to my favorite composers. I pretty much know I like Beethoven and Tchaivosky, those are the only ones I've 100% on. I'm dangerously close to calling Mottishaw @ nibs.com to finally snag the Bexley 2007 Owners Club LE. http://www.nibs.com/BexleyOwnersClubPensMahogany.htm I hate how expensive it is, but I screwed around and missed it for sale at $80 less. Now nobody really has it in stock, and these rarely come up for sale in the used market.
grawk Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 i had some magic hat #9 with lunch. I'm not really a fan of #9. Fruit and beer shouldn't be combined
JBLoudG20 Posted September 21, 2007 Author Report Posted September 21, 2007 Hmm I like #9 for the most part. Its usually between that and Blue Moon at the local bar on wings night.
deepak Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Sennheiser HD650 with Cardas. Damn that postjack edit: add purk and mulveling to the guilty party list as well
postjack Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Sennheiser HD650 with Cardas. Damn that postjack edit: add purk and mulveling to the guilty party list as well yay! its a great can. I haven't heard it with the cardas though, can't vouch for that.
n_maher Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Sennheiser HD650 with Cardas. Damn that postjack Personally not a huge fan of the Cardas/650 combo, I actually preferred the stock cable over the Cardas. But you should be able to get about $100 back for the cable and move on from there.
en480c4 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 I didn't care for the 650 with the Cardas. I think it really benefitted from being paired with a Zu or Equinox, but the Cardas experiment was short lived. Take all the sterotypical negatives about the 650 and that's kind of what I found with the Cardas. I actually preferred the stock cable edit: Nate beat me too it, but yeah, what he said
deepak Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Personally not a huge fan of the Cardas/650 combo, I actually preferred the stock cable over the Cardas. But you should be able to get about $100 back for the cable and move on from there. Always an option. Other than meet settings I haven't heard any of the aftermarket Sennheiser cables. Who knows it might sound good on my HD580.
postjack Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 sell the cardas, get zach to make you an oracle.
n_maher Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Who knows it might sound good on my HD580. FWIW I liked the Cardas on 580/600s.
deepak Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 sell the cardas, get zach to make you an oracle. Maybe if someone sent me a loaner and I liked what I heard FWIW I liked the Cardas on 580/600s. I was actually digging the HD650 the last time I heard them on my M^3, so it might be the HD580 that goes. On that modest setup the differences between the 580 & 650 weren't huge. But I'm skeptical if I'd even be able to hear cable differences since the headphones will be used straight out of an E-MU0404 USB when I'm at the hospital.
ojnihs Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 But I'm skeptical if I'd even be able to hear cable differences since the headphones will be used straight out of an E-MU0404 USB when I'm at the hospital. While I really like how the E-MU0404 USB sounds, it's still making me hanker for a cheap balanced amp to get it to that next level.
deepak Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 While I really like how the E-MU0404 USB sounds, it's still making me hanker for a cheap balanced amp to get it to that next level. I know what you mean... But all the bling bling is going into my tube amp
Salt Peanuts Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds finally came (along with bunch of other CD's). I can't wait till I listen to it later tonight.
ojnihs Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 but you can feel the cable difference, as you slide if over your skin, caressing the techflex, rubbing the... *ahem* *cough* what were we talking about? cables reks, cables...what were you talking aboot?!?
Salt Peanuts Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 USB WiFi adaptor for my wireless-dead laptop (finally)
