tyrion Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Nice Mike! I love the Vibrams. Why with socks though? I was wearing them without the socks for a few hours and started to feel a little irritation so put the lightweight injinji socks I bought with the 5 Fingers which helped. I will ease into no sock wear so hopefully there will be no problems. The socks are great and when it's hot here may be preferrable in terms of odoras the sock will absorb the sweat, not the shoe. I'm thinking of getting a pair of KSO's. I thought fit was going to be an issue due to the size difference between my feet but I think it will work out. CJ, I have not run in them yet but will try this week.
The Monkey Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Cool, Mike. I was in a running store talking to the manager today and he said he likes running in them, but to be very careful if you haven't done barefoot-style running before. Take it slow and steady was his advice.
shellylh Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 It is true that the Vibrams can get a pretty funky (smell). I usually wash mine in the sink, scrubby them with an old toothbrush, every once in a while and have tried effercescent (dental cleaning) tablets. That seems to work well. I recenetly started wiping them out with a disinfectant wipe after every use.
tyrion Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 I'm going to just walk around in them for a few days, then maybe run 1/2 mile and work my way up slowly. I also picked up a box of these today:
Dusty Chalk Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Meanwhile, wtf wintry mix a few days before April?Srsly. And again on Wednesday, if the predictions pan out.

grawk Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Oh come on, you're making this too easy. I bought a cell phone for my kid.
jvlgato Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 16" carbon steel paella pan and serving rack. Chi-paella-Fi. Looking forward to it!
VPI Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 nope They certainly have interesting ideas on the way to fire a rimfire cartridge.
Voltron Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Cold Steel Sword Cane from wife for my birthday. I sure as hell hope she got you a razor-brimmed bowler hat to go with it. I mean, what are you going to defend yourself with if your carry gun jams and the sword cane freezes shut and your money clip knife falls out of your pocket?
guzziguy Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Come on Al. Remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you.
swt61 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I find Al's comment refreshing. He's always the down to earth voice of reason.
n_maher Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I'm still trying to figure out why he bought a cane from his wife for his birthday.
Dreadhead Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Some bike bling that will not make me faster but is cool:
deepak Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I sure as hell hope she got you a razor-brimmed bowler hat to go with it. Voltron Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Blade mcx mini rc helicopter We have one of those and you really need to be indoors to control it. Kinda limiting at my lame skill level.
grawk Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 This is the upgrade for a cheapie one I got my daughter. I'm working my way up to the outside ones.
HeadphoneAddict Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Oh come on, you're making this too easy. I bought a cell phone for my kid. If you don't want me shooting an attacker then I thought you might be happier if I had to resort to my fencing skills that I learned in college.

Actually, I never bought a money clip knife, thanks for the reminder.
luvdunhill Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 You know, this is crazy, but I actually want to see pics with you brandishing that bad boy.
