Salt Peanuts Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 All-Clads are nice. Eventually, we'll replace our pants and pots with them.
Salt Peanuts Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 All-Clads are nice. Eventually, we'll replace our pants and pots with them. Obviously, I meant to type "pans" not "pants."
emelius Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Leather-Clads are nice. Eventually, we'll replace our pants and tops with them. ...
laxx Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 A salad in prep for restaurant week tonight and tomorrow. Need balance in my daily intake. Since dinner will be very unhealthy, need to eat cleaner for lunch.
tyrion Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Gotta love Cigar Monster. 10 of these for $60: 10 of these for $40:
Voltron Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 (edited) I scored an unexpected treat at the liquor store today. Went in for some silicone ice cube trays, and found this: Totally psyched that this is being imported, and the sole US importer happens to be in the Bay Area so I hope to be stocked up at all times and hopefully with different batches on a regular basis. Duggeh, you will be even more at home when you come out for MOA II !! As for the ice cubes, I got some nice chunky square ones as well as a KING CUBE tray for jumbo lumps of ice to plop in some whisk(e)y or other rocks cocktails without much of any dilution: Edited July 22, 2010 by Voltron
Dusty Chalk Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Bananas chocolate eclairs chips -- lots of chips -- I really shouldn't shop when I'm hungry, but fortunately, they'll keep La Fin du Monde 4-pack Saranac Orange Cream soda Stewart's Orange Cream soda 14" sub -- yeah, I like 'em big and stupid -- sandwiches, that is
jinp6301 Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Looks like wegmans ftw! I still have half a sub left from todays lunch
Dusty Chalk Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Yuppers! (And I'm way ahead on tea, hence no tea.) Yeah, those 14" are a great deal -- that's like 4 smaller meals (and if I'm having a late supper, I want a smaller meal).
swt61 Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) Obviously, I meant to type "pans" not "pants." Yeah, 'cause that would just be uncomfortable as all hell. I will add however that for the money the Costco Tri-Clad cookwear is not half bad. Edited July 23, 2010 by swt61
Voltron Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 so that's good gin, i'm assuming? If it's not Scottish [gin], it's crap! Yes, it is good gin, and I am building a cocktail with it now.
Voltron Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Definitely as good a gin as Ardbeg is a whisky. Duggeh brought a bottle to DanJam and it was excellent. The cocktail I just mixed is similarly excellent and at 95 proof it is nice and strong.
Voltron Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 I didn't taste the whisky but he did have a few wonderful BrewDog options. Emelius need not apply. And you weren't drinking gin even then.
Augsburger Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 So why didn't you call me when you arrived at CJ for a martini shoot out? What am I dirt? Nice score Dinny!!!
The Monkey Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Except for the bourrye, I kind of phoned it in. I need to find moar cool stuff like Al.
The Monkey Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 I pretty much despise tequila. I'm donating it to my parents' house.
Voltron Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Tequila can certainly great but it can also be good in silver/clear form.
Grahame Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 i don't know about that, seems risky. Red Tequila, anyone?
Voltron Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) Give it a shot, so to speak. Edited July 23, 2010 by Voltron
Voltron Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Good gets, Dinny. Curious about the Park Ave whiskey. Have you had it?
The Monkey Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 Al, Yes, I like it a lot. It's Park Avenue Liquor's private label, made by Tuthilltown. This particular bottle is a 50/50 bourbon/rye mix. I had a bottle from the first batch (the aptly named Batch 1) and I loved it. It's a nice mix of the bourbon-y vanilla overtones with an underlying rye bite. This is Batch 4 and I anticipate much in the way of tastiness.
