Augsburger Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 (edited) Good choice on Hendricks and happy cocktailing! Very nice beer haul too. You must have a pretty decent beer shop because some of those aren't readily available everywhere. Thanks Al, I have good beer tutors. The Allagash Curiex is aged in Bourbon casks which should make for an interesting presentation, and the good thing about it is that you can lay it down in your cellar for up to six years to accentuate it's character, whatever that is. Buying booze and laying it down for a few years is my MO so this may get to be fun. Bummer about Shelly's Sierra Nevada Harvest, I hope the one I just bought strikes my fancy, if not I will chuck it at one of the local rattlers. Edited July 3, 2010 by Augsburger
Iron_Dreamer Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Wow you guys are doing some serious beer runs these days! Except for Matt whose every day is a serious beer run! I Just bought a few pairs of shoes thanks to 35% Bing Cashback at Endless.com.
shellylh Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 The last time I had the Harvest I liked it a lot better. Not sure what was going on this time. Perhaps it didn't pair well with the ultra fine quality Chili Cheese Fritos.

Voltron Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Hard to match with beer but probably the best chip evar. One of the few items I break down and buy from the snack machine at my office.
Augsburger Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Well I think I can tell from experience Sushi does not mate with the Marin Mount Tam Ale.

aardvark baguette Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Was this an investment purchase, hobby or diversification for safety? Partly diversification, partly as a way to set aside some savings in a way that encourages me to not raid the funds every time I need a bit of walking around money. I lack discipline.
luvdunhill Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Two Jordan JX92 full range drivers. Decided to go with the unshielded version... specs: Jordan JX92S specifications
tom_hankins Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Cuisinart ice cream/frozen yogart/sorbet maker. A batch of chocolate in the freezer, and a fresh strawberry-peach in the machine. Six pack of Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale.

I lack discipline. Who knew? You seem to be very disciplined to me, good luck and make sure they are in a very safe place. One of our friends a few years ago had hundreds of silver and gold coins she and her husband had collected over the years as well as a huge vinyl collection. She lost everything in the Malibu fires and escaped with just the clothes on her back. Jim, on the MM.
Sherwood Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 this sounds not unlike my current culinary lineup, Tom. I've got a batch of homemade cherry Garcia in the freezer setting up, and some dogfish brown as well. A toast to good taste!
Duggeh Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Hey, Duggeh -- did you know there was a Mikkeller/Brewdog collaboration, Devine Rebel? I don't remember seeing mention of it before, that's the only reason I mention it. I was lukewarm on it. Second lot anyway, Didn't get any of the original brew. Might age well I guess. It's probably mentioned somewhere in the drink thread.
Augsburger Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Three Droids, three Droid cases, a Droid car charger and a partridge in a pear tree. When am I going to learn that "let's go shopping" dosn't mean what I think it means.
VPI Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 The Black Rapid is great. Kind of gives you a comfortable carry strap with a small bag built in.
morphsci Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Think of it as an efficient camera bag instead.
Salt Peanuts Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 i think you'll like it, though i still want the BlackRapid strap. I thought long and hard about BlackRapid, but went with OP/TECH after reading too many horror stories about BlackRapid strap failing at one spot or another. The price differential doesn't hurt, either. I haven't used/tried it too long, but I'm liking the OP/TECH a lot thus far. I'd been perfectly happy carrying my camera with wrist strap, but I've been having problems with my right wrist and having a comfortable neck strap is going to be nice.
morphsci Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 i don't know, how many MPG? How far can you travel on one meal?
Salt Peanuts Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 For across the chest, it's wee bit too short - that fact I've only grown horizontally for the past decade or doesn't help, either. I'll most likely be grabbing an extension or sling strap adaptor.

Yeah I did the research on Black Rapid failures as well. The only one that I have seen that I do not see fixes for on the current model is a strap that just pulls through up by the shoulder pad. The other issues that I see in historic posts have all prompted updates in the current model. The Black Rapid is also dramatically more comfortable than the Op/Tech that I have. The Op/Tech is still very comfortable but wearing it like Jacob is saying would be my preferred method and I do not see the safety built into that strap that the Black Rapid has.
VPI Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Some pics of it in action. Not quite the same as in person but I guess not everyone has a B&H in the neighborhood.
morphsci Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 @Jeff - Is that the fastenR3, you have? Is it better than the standard FastenR2?
