Salt Peanuts Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Let me know if you want some links to good training programs. I don't know if you've rowed before? Nope, first timer here. Decided on it by recommendations from few folks since the usual suspects (treadmill, elliptical, etc.) always ended up giving me joint pains.
Hopstretch Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Just watch your back on the erg and you'll be fine. Make sure you start off with proper form and don't come too far forward at the catch (the point at which your hands are closest to the flywheel) because it's that flexion that causes problems. Here's a good form video. I'll PM you some other links. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3677219739586281796&ei=M4xGS9jPF4aYlAft-6XDBw&q=proper+rowing+form
Augsburger Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) I have one too, and a keyboard, unfortunately the Mac Mini won't arrive until Wednesday. The ULN-8 will play the sounds of silence for yet another weekend. But there is some god news today. Evidently Paul Hobbs f**cked up my Cabernet order and are sending me an extra three bottles of his newest Cab as an apology. So karma does balance out this week. Edited January 8, 2010 by Augsburger
The Monkey Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 The Hobbs is no joke. And you also have my ultimate audio setup: just a DAC. Greg, you are my hero.

shellylh Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 magic mouse I am tempted to get the Magic Mouse. I keep going back and forth between another Logitech Performance MX (have one in the office and love it) and a MM for home.
n3rdling Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 transfiguration spirit cart (not my pic) Now I just need a tonearm and I'm ready to start spinnin'
voodoochile Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Mark, thanks. The lens arrives tomorrow. I have the 7 million. It is a nice bag. I also picked a Crumpler backpack for photo gear. If I was blessed with such a nice piece of glass I'd have gone with the 7 too. That 2.8 aperture coupled with in-lens IS will allow you to hand-hold full zoom shots at dusk, really. Outstanding fidelity, too. It's surprising how much you can put in these bags though. I was thinking I might need either the 6 or 7, and the 6 is plenty roomy. Did you go for the Karachi Outpost?
spritzer Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 transfiguration spirit cart (not my pic) Now I just need a tonearm and I'm ready to start spinnin' Want me to bake you one? Bread would a great material for the tube.
nattonrice Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 ...and when you get tired of the sound it'll make a great bread stick on a cheese platter~
n3rdling Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Want me to bake you one? Bread would a great material for the tube. Would said bread be bead blasted?
voodoochile Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 You could always dampen it with some butter.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 You could always dampen it with some butter. Mmmmm, rancid butter.
voodoochile Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 I hope you don't have a dog. "Awwww, the dog ate my tonearm again!"
Hopstretch Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 "Awwww, the dog ate my tonearm again!" And now he's resonating at between 9 and 11Hz.
spritzer Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Would said bread be bead blasted? I was thinking more about sugar glazed...
manaox2 Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 I was thinking more about sugar glazed... Turntable or not, sugar glazed bread tube sounds delightful.

luvdunhill Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Parts from Digikey and Mouser for a Pete Millet project Soundcard Interface Now, Digikey pulled a really douchy move and upped the price on Digikey part RLC000-ND by $20 after people started buying these. Pretty lame, and I tried to call them on it, and they said they won't honor the previous price unless I had a copy of the webpage with the previous price.

luvdunhill Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Cached Google page has the new price yeah, this would work though: http://web.archive.org/web/20080105084047/http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/675949-meter-digital-display-volt-refl-mdmv0000.html anyways, I was too annoyed to bother I guess.
