Asr Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Nope, not in my current job. Haven't heard of Csound, I'll look into that, thx. I haven't kept tabs on the software development community in a long time, guess I should start doing that.
naamanf Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Nice selection, Naaman. How was it? Yeah, did you try the Saintsbury? I hit up most of the beer but only grape product I made it to was the port. I'll let you know when I make it to the others in the what are you drinking thread.
Smeggy Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 some 75mm bowl jaws, a Sorby bowl gauge and some moar woods
HeadphoneAddict Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 New Mac Mini 2Gb/320Gb CD/DVDRW 802.11n to replace my Apple TV in the bedroom (ATV moves down to the basement home theater).
Augsburger Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Hey, me too! ;D For some strange reason I feel I need to get one too. What is it and where can I find one. I can't read the photo when I blow it up, seems like the manufacturer is lambda something or other. Google knows not of what you post.
Augsburger Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Thank you. I am toasting you with a glass of Chardonnay, it was 92 degrees today, summer has officially started.
Voltron Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Very hot for us up here today too but not 92. Did chill down a bottle of Goldeneye Vineyards Migration Vin Gris of Pinot Noir and since there is a little left I will toast right back at ya. Cheers.
Icarium Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 http://www.billybags.com/images/Blowout%20Photos/DSC_0523.JPG <- Rack moved to my room... looks like this but scratched up and different top and more shelves. I worry about my floor integrity thing is fuck off heavy.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Those BillyBags shelves look great, though.
Icarium Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Yeah it's always been my first choice after encountering Sleestack's but he paid like 10k for his or something ridiculous, but it has a nice anodized or some other glossy type of finish. The finish on mine is ... ghetto powder coat maybe? And it's hellza scratched up but it was also ~160 after tax. Slashing 100 off my roomate's rent as he drove to Berkeley and helped me haul it over.
Pars Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 2G of RAM (Crucial) and a 640Gb WD Caviar Black HD from newegg for my Powermac G5.
Icarium Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 well, let's see pics of it. Sure after I clean my room and set up more stuff on it. Just talked to Billy Bags we are estimating that its about 200 pounds and the spiked feet apparently are carpet friendly. She recommended talking with a powder coat place to get it refinished if I want to and sold me some spike protection things for 30 bucks for a set. A set of carpet glidey feet would be ~190 bucks so I think I'll wait on that for now.
VPI Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Decided to try out some lower priced DACs with the new Squeezebox before going nuts so I picked up a Benchmark DAC1 and a Lavry DA-10 since everyone is dumping them cheap. Don't know that I will like either one but at the prices I paid I should be able to turn them around if I decide I really need that Weiss DAC.
morphsci Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Billy Bags is a funny name I always thought it sounds very "hobbitty".
swt61 Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 http://www.billybags.com/images/Blowout%20Photos/DSC_0523.JPG <- Rack moved to my room... looks like this but scratched up and different top and more shelves. I worry about my floor integrity thing is fuck off heavy. I bet a visit to your local powder coater wouldn't be too costly.
grawk Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I don't think 200 lbs ( or even 500 lbs, really ) will be a real strong test for your floor's integrity.
Torpedo Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Lavry DA-11. It's true, it can do 24/88 over USB and needs no drivers.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Yeah, but your footprint is bigger than 4x1mm^2. The spike protection thingies (aka "quarters", "nickels" or "pennies") will solve that problem, though.
VPI Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 (edited) Lavry DA-11. It's true, it can do 24/88 over USB and needs no drivers. I thought about one of those but as I only use Macs so as I understand it I can do 24/96 via the mini toslink output so I don't have to pay the price for a USB input. Edited April 20, 2009 by VPI
grawk Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 yes, but that should be across 4 separate floor joists, and so realistically, you'll apply more weight on any given spot than that rack will.
