JBLoudG20 Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 You read books?! Mostly technical books and papers.

laxx Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 A 64GB Samsung SSD for my main workstation computer. QUIET!!!! and fast, what a nice combo. And finally at a size/price I could stomach ($240), compared to the next closest substitute (Velociraptor). Newegg had the 300Gb Velociraptor drive for $180 last week. =T I have the 150Gb and it's fucking awesome. Zu Julian and Masterpiece Thundercracker and Ultra Magnus.
luvdunhill Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 @ Marc, whoa. figured I'd try the insanely priced resistors (Duelund silver and carbon). I mean, when your already at ~$1,500 for 4 drivers, what's ~$60 for four resistors? Here's my inspiration:
n_maher Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 You were inspired by three rocks, one of which is blue?
luvdunhill Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 You were inspired by three rocks, one of which is blue? not the rocks, but their positioning. You have to look through the material to see the immaterial beauty.
deepak Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 Saturday I picked up a Sony PRS-700. After some experimenting, I got all my books cataloged and loaded to my OCD satisfaction. The screen isn't nearly as nice as the 505, but that is due to the touch screen, which I need for my optimal PDF compatibility. So far, I'm very happy with it. I've had my eye on an eBook reader since I saw the old Sony alpha, but until now I had yet ot find one to fit my uses exactly. I wont know until I use it a bit more, but this comes pretty close. DO WANT Also will it read HTML files? (almost entirely text)
JBLoudG20 Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 DO WANT Also will it read HTML files? (almost entirely text) I'm not sure if it'll read HTML natively, I used Calibre (availalbe on all platforms) to convert the few HTML files I had. I'll snap some pictures soon.
hungrych Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 April Music Aura Note. Hopefully the ultimate all-in-one solution for me.
philodox Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 K271 MKIIAny different than the K271 Studio? I've been considering getting them... no reason really, except that they're fucking hot.
Fungi Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Any different than the K271 Studio? I've been considering getting them... no reason really, except that they're fucking hot. Inclusion of velour pads, slightly different parts (the emblems and such). Otherwise they should be the same.
philodox Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 That amp is sweet. It's the one audiophile memory from the first National. All the other memories are of drinking and live music.Same here, though that was the first time I heard the HE90 as well... so it wasn't my only audiophile memory. Something weird about that amp though. It wasn't the greatest match for the K340's unfortunately, and it actually made the HD600/650's sound good! Bizarre. Inclusion of velour pads, slightly different parts (the emblems and such). Otherwise they should be the same.Figured as much. You've heard them yourself then?
Fungi Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 You've heard them yourself then? I only have the mkII, but I haven't heard any reports of them being changed internally, and my thoughts on them closely resemble another acquaintance's of his K271S.
tyrion Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 April Music Aura Note. Hopefully the ultimate all-in-one solution for me. I'm curious to hear what you think. A couple came up on A'gon. I considered picking one up for the office.
tyrion Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 You would, millionaire. If only it were true.
grawk Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 A case of raison d'etra 2 4packs of weyerbacher QUAD 1 4pack of Ommegang Hennepin 4 750ml bottles of Weyerbacher Merry Monks
philodox Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 I only have the mkII, but I haven't heard any reports of them being changed internally, and my thoughts on them closely resemble another acquaintance's of his K271S.Cool, I didn't expect they were different sonically. Not a bad thing either, as they don't do much wrong. Mike - I've always thought that Aura unit was pretty slick myself. Not willing to shell out that much money for something that dinky at this point though.
Cankin Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 Any different than the K271 Studio? I've been considering getting them... no reason really, except that they're fucking hot. just get it, you don't need a reason or excuse
Fungi Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 It's wintertime, they won't get hot. Especially with the velour pads, mmm soft. Bought: Early Edition S1, Ocean's 11 12 13 gift pack.
