The Monkey Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Forgot that I also got more of these: Like magic.
Sherwood Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I heard the Westone 3 prototype almost two years ago at their factory. The prototype sounded phenomenal -- very similar to the 2 except cleaner and with better delineated bass. You might not like them, but I did.
Sherwood Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 After my GFP-750 arrived basically broken, and after I discovered that I liked the way an active linestage sounded, I bought this: Parasound P3 preamp. It does everything, but it may not do anything well. We shall see.

deepak Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 A Parasound product without a JC in the title? What gives? John is slacking I suppose.. He only wants his name attached to the JC-2
Knuckledragger Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Two 4 inch metal box cover, GF©I and duplex outlet. These things are unbelievably difficult to find locally. I had one sales clerk swear to me that they didn't exist because of "fire code reasons." I thought this was particularly amusing as it is building code that dictates that I use them (all basement outlet circuits must have ground fault protection.)
Sherwood Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 A Parasound product without a JC in the title? What gives? John is slacking I suppose.. Yeah, I wondered that as well. It is said to be designed by Mr. Curl, but it's substantially downmarket from the JC-2. I've read some reviews stating that it gets pretty harsh at high volumes, but I'll have to hear for myself. At any rate, ebay's 25% refund program makes auditioning gear almost like a second job.
Dusty Chalk Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Just received it, in gorgeous packaging.
Voltron Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 So did it snow yet or are you just being optimistic?
bperboy Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Prospekt's March by Coldplay... picked it up from walmart... sounds pretty decent so far. Haven't had a chance to listen on my rig yet though.
Sherwood Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 No sticking snow yet here in the lowlands, but this evening bodes well.
naamanf Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 So did it snow yet or are you just being optimistic? Being optimistic. We have some bad weather coming up so hopefully they put some white on the hills. The mountain is open now but only has 5/117 runs open.
morphsci Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 8 Port Gigabit to replace the 5 port gigabit
Salt Peanuts Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Stax O dos. Nice! What amp are you going for get for them?
aardvark baguette Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Ive decided Im just going to save up for a Blue Hawaii and buy one whenever it becomes available. Or get in on the next production run if I'm lucky. So I wont be listening to them for a while, but I definitely wanted to grab a MK I while I still had a chance.
Salt Peanuts Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Cool. I'm sure if you wait another week, Mike will be selling his Blue Hawaii.
n_maher Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 For now you really should just try to track down an SRM1 or SRD7 so you can at least enjoy them. Both of those would be pretty flippable for minimal loss down the road.
