CD44hi Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 I am looking to buy some RAM/. Any suggestions for a reliable source? PC2700 CL2.5 NP DDR SDRAM SODIMM Memory Thanks! Quote
qazwsx Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 PC2700? Can't you buy that basically...anywhere? Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 I usually watch the local ads: Best Buy Circuit City (although I'd never buy from them) Staples Office Depot CompUSA Micro Center ...and then wait for the appropriate stuff to go on sale. I'll take down your information and see if I can find anything good this week. Also: pricewatch. Check out my thread about which brands are reliable. Quote
qazwsx Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Also check compare123.com--they list prices for sites all over the web. http://compare123.com/x/search.cgi?query=pc2700+ddr+sdram+notebook+memory Quote
deepak Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 I'm using PC2700 in my laptop and it's running great with Kingston ValueRAM. I've never experienced a BSOD, and both sticks passed every memtest86 bench. Quote
CD44hi Posted June 25, 2007 Author Report Posted June 25, 2007 Thanks guys! Basically, yes, I don't even remember when was the last time I purchased ram, and even when I did it it was for a mac. So I am basically clueless. Quote
tkam Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Also check out newegg their prices are usually very good and their service is great. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Hey, sorry, I never got back to you on this -- did you ever end up getting anything? If not: you have a Lenovo Thinkpad? Do you know what size modules is the max that you can take? Quote
CD44hi Posted August 24, 2007 Author Report Posted August 24, 2007 Hey Dusty, no worries, yep, I got a 1 giger Kingston PC2700. It can take 2 of those, max I think. It made a huge difference. Quote
Nanoha Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 Zipzoomfly and Newegg would be my choices. Quote
