n_maher Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Just finished shoveling ~2' of snow off the deck, took about 2hrs. This is vacation?
laxx Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Damn man. It sounds like you're shovelling everyday!
n_maher Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Nah I hadn't shoveled the deck in over a week, no time. Took a few pics for boomana since she's been nostalgic for snow.
boomana Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Post pics!!! It's 78 and sunny right now, but I'm headed off to work.
fierce_freak Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 I've got work and snow. Woe is me.
Salt Peanuts Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 New MDF boards cut, drilled, lightly sanded (not as much as I should've - I'm lazy), and first coat of Danish oil applied. I think I need to go get more Danish oil before I'm done.
Salt Peanuts Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Additional coats applied and drying. I might apply more Danish oil later, but I should be able to put the rack together sometime tomorrow. The oil doesn't look as uneven in person - camera's flash makes it more obvious.
Pars Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Looks good... is that a DIY flexy rack?
fierce_freak Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Looks like it. I made a very similar rack, but I didn't go to those lengths to treat it...Salt Peanut's should turn out nicely
Salt Peanuts Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Yep, it's a Flexy - second one actually. It's time to put another coat on.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Woofer inversion, definitely -- they have a visible outward tilt on the bottom (well, the passive radiators do, anyway). I may just have to go for the mods, though, as the woofers are one of the standard mods.
Pars Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 I built a Dynalo for my brother for Christmas and just finished casing it up today, so thought I'd share some pics. I used the board from my work Dynalo and put a new board in it that I just built up with Roderstein/PRP resistors, Pana FM and Elna Cerafines, etc. I used some Mill-Max flush socket pins to socket all transistors and FETs also. Sorry bro... but that one is mine Here's my new board: And here is the amp for my brother (knob was one I had laying around, not my favorite... but whatever): Hope he likes it!
Salt Peanuts Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 Pars - I'm not seeing any pics.
Pars Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 Hmmm... Probably comcast... someone told me awhile back they could see them as http instead of https, so I tried that. Apparently not... https://home.comcast.net/~youngc1/My_dyna.JPG https://home.comcast.net/~youngc1/My_dyna2.JPG And here is the amp for my brother: https://home.comcast.net/~youngc1/Fr_dyna_lit.JPG https://home.comcast.net/~youngc1/Inside_rear_dyna.JPG https://home.comcast.net/~youngc1/Rear_dyna.JPG
Dusty Chalk Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 I can see the pics. I especially like the first hardcore porn shot.
n_maher Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I had a little bit of free time today so I decided to undertake the tedium that is matching all of the resistors for my balanced beta22. I guess this now officially qualifies as my next project.
en480c4 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Wow, Nate. You finally picked one of your many projects! Wuhoo!!!
Salt Peanuts Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Wow, Nate. You finally picked one of your many projects! Wuhoo!!! I concur. Good to see you actually working on your own amp for a change.
n_maher Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I concur. Good to see you actually working on your own amp for a change. I know, it can't last.
tyrion Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I know, it can't last. Mike quickly thinks if there is anything he can ship to Nate that will distract him once again.
n_maher Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Mike quickly thinks if there is anything he can ship to Nate that will distract him once again. Oh, I figure I'll be contacting you about something soon enough. I've got a certain email into Apogee...

Built some 4-wire leads with some Mueller clips from Mouser and some banana plug test jumpers I had laying around... nice for matching resistors.

I don't think you'll catch me doing 4-wire resistor matching any time soon.
