hungrych Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 At 2 am, me on lead vocals, my friend on guitar and backup vocals. http://download.yousendit.com/441B20A4642B386E We were fucking around, and realized at about 4 that we had recorded like 18 songs, then we did 2 more in the morning. All improvised. It's pretty stupid, but it does get better as it goes. The highlights are probably Merlin, Godzilla, For Pluto, Everyone's Sleeping... And You Should Be Too, and Lazy Frog. But really they're all great.
hungrych Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 If you hate yousendit (which you should) here's a download that shouldn't be as annoying to use... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FRIOY2FI This is amazing stuff!
ojnihs Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 finally not a yousendit file, i'll check it out mate
qazwsx Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 286.62 MB on dial-up? :'( Anyway you could just put a track or two on putfile or something?
hungrych Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 That's really wierd, it was 28mb as a wma (the recorder used wma)and I transcoded it to alac so it would work in itunes. Dunno why it would be ten times the size... I'll work on it.

hungrych Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 http://www.mediafire.com/?8mm26glnnxa There, it's like 46 mb now. Here are a few songs: http://www.mediafire.com/?dg4ygiyblzg http://www.mediafire.com/?dfymkmbmozy http://www.mediafire.com/?72zrecyzeni

But why would making a wma into a lossless file add data? Either way, I look forward to the review.
postjack Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 But why would making a wma into a lossless file add data? Either way, I look forward to the review. it doesn't really add data, its just adds size.
postjack Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 think about when you convert an mp3 to a wav. there is no increase in SQ, since that information was already squelched when the file was compressed. still, the file gets a hell of a lot bigger.
deepak Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 If someone could transcode it to a lossy codec (I don't care what) and upload it so it's much smaller I'd listen.
deepak Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 hungrch you could transcode the wma to aac which is the lossy itunes codec. I wouldn't mind just the 28 mb wma since it will work on foobar
hungrych Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 http://www.mediafire.com/?fxzdbnduylv That's wma.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Low Batteries is probably my favourite track of the ones I've auditioned -- it has that punky vibe on acoustic thing going on. Wombats from Hell is also surprisingly good, what with its Bauhaus tinged production. You guys could use an editor, though. And it's fairly painful to listen to on headphones, the guitar primarily in one earpiece and the voice primarily in the other. It'd probably be a lot less painful to listen to on speakers, so I'll do that later. And a producer. And some synthesizers. And some beats. And a better microphone (the one you used makes you sound congested).
hungrych Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 Synthesizers? I'm not selling out just yet... It sounds fine on my L3ks, but it's just a usb key/recorder thing I found lying around at my friends house, so the quality won't be that good. We recorded the last two tracks when we woke up so the amp wouldn't wake everyone up. What should be edited? I like the random talking, it gives insight into the songwriting process since that was literally all the writing we did.
hungrych Posted May 30, 2007 Author Report Posted May 30, 2007 Wombats from Hell is also surprisingly good, what with its Bauhaus tinged production. That's actually my other friend playing Zelda. (the one you used makes you sound congested). I don't think it's the mic, I actually was congested after having a really bad cold/allergies for a week.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 What should be edited? The random talking. Save it for the extended edition. It didn't work for Meat Beat Manifesto, it won't work for you.
