hirsch Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 There's funny and then there's funny. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=242053 I'm considering an offer in the $200 range
ojnihs Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 guess those ultrasone edition 9's are worth the $1500
grawk Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 guess those ultrasone edition 9's are worth the $1500 He's the distributor, so I'm sure he gets a discount .
Nanoha Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Just as a note, the UE9 sell new for a little less than $1.2k usually. I wonder how low Sovkiller can get them at.
NotoriousBIG_PJ Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Can someone post the contents of the link for me? Thanks, Biggie.
PFKMan23 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 IC: Sony MDR-CD3000 used, but pampered and IMO in like new shape, new pads on it...I do not think that you will find other pair in this condition nowadays honestly...they are officially discontinued and hard to find... Given my my new purchase of two Edition 9's, I'm not longer using these babies at all, and it is a waste to have them hanging dusting there while there will be people dying of trying them out. This s my last pair, so all the spares parts will go as well, a bunch of new screw in adapters 1/8 to 1/4, and also two pairs of pads, brand new that I got a few month ago from Audiocubes, (another $100.00 value pus shipping)....So basically you will get one new set of pads on it, and two sets of spare pads.... They work flawless, and included is everything, case, cardboard box, manual, warranty cards, etc.... No trades of any kind, I looking for cash, Paypal only, and prefer locally as shipping abroad is a hassle, but I'm willing to do it as well if needed and the buyer covers the costs... I'm open to offers, but please do not ask me for a price, if I was looking for a firm price I would have posted it. I'm simply looking for the best offer I could possibly get to recover from the big hit of the Edition 9's and the customized RPX-33, and keep on going...So please make me offers rather than questions...Sorry...lowballers will be ignored... ;) Also they come from a an smoke free enviroment...the only smoke that you will see home, is while occasionally we burn the toasts... The pads are in another box in the storage, I do not have them home so they are not in these pictures, but they are in the boxes as well... They look basically like this: A couple of offers but nothing really tempting yet... For now no splitting, willing to sell as a combo...
aerius Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I'm considering an offer in the $200 range Likewise, except he'd have to pay me $200 to take those off his hands.
TheSloth Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I've never heard 3k's but I thought they were among the better closed headphones in general? Probably not for the price Sov. wants for them, but in general?
hungrych Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 It's hard to describe, but they sound very "fake" to me.
Iron_Dreamer Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 There was once a time when I really liked them, but I heard them again a few months ago and went "what was I thinking" and "these things have no bass." Go figure.
909 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I've never heard the CD3000s. At the time when they were still available for retail purchase I thought about buying them, but opted for the cheaper A900s, which I eventually sold. Still I would like to hear them.
PFKMan23 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 To me, they have some kind of an upper midrange/lower treble sheen to them. Comfy but very funky sounding.
bhd812 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-MDR-CD3000-Audiophile-Headphones-mdr-cd3000_W0QQitemZ250119510705QQihZ015QQcategoryZ40137QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I would offer $300-$350 if i really wanted them..like bad wanting of them.. no thanks
grawk Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I bought a set recently for future conversion to PS3000s...assuming I can ever run across a set of ps1 drivers.
n_maher Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Someone is going to have to explain to me the logic in purchasing his pair at all considering that you can get them NOS for less (assuming this site is real)...
Salt Peanuts Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I've been wanting to try them for some time since I've been looking for a pair of closed cans, but their current going price is wee bit insane.
grawk Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I've been wanting to try them for some time since I've been looking for a pair of closed cans, but their current going price is wee bit insane. PM me your address, you can borrow mine.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 To me, they have some kind of an upper midrange/lower treble sheen to them. Comfy but very funky sounding. This is probably closest to my memory of them. Although I didn't find the funk unpleasant at all. Stupid question -- when the fuck did they get discontinued? I was going to get a pair...
Dusty Chalk Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 They sound like shit.Everything either sounds like shit to you, or is good. Can't you just describe a pair of headphones' weaknesses and strengths? It's like everything's either a 10 or a 1.

909 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 I see things in black and white. Biggie. Well, I hope your hearing is far better than that color-blind eyesight. Colorful nuances make the world a beautiful place. Even B&W photos display shades of grey. I just don't get that blanket B&W attitude either.
NotoriousBIG_PJ Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Hey, its a down hill trend and I can't seem to stop. My posts lately have become riddled with grammer mistakes. Biggie.
